- Remove the rear lens cap from the lens and the body cap from your camera.
- Align the red dot on the lens mount with the red dot on your camera's lens mount.

- Immediately attach the front and rear lens caps to protect the lens elements.
5.3 Camera Settings for Manual Lenses
Since this is a fully manual lens, your camera will not automatically detect its presence or control its aperture. You must enable specific settings on your Canon RF mirrorless camera:
- Go to your camera's menu.
- Navigate to the custom functions or setup menu.
- Enable the setting for "Release shutter without lens" or "Shoot without lens". The exact wording may vary by camera model.
- Set your camera to Manual (M) mode for full control over exposure.

6. Operating the Lens
6.1 Manual Focusing
This lens features manual focus only. To achieve sharp focus:
- Look through your camera's viewfinder or LCD screen.
- Rotate the focus ring until your subject appears sharp.
- Utilize your camera's focus peaking or magnification assist features for precise focusing, especially at wide apertures like F0.95.
6.2 Adjusting Aperture
The aperture controls the amount of light entering the lens and the depth of field. To adjust the aperture:
- Rotate the aperture ring on the lens barrel to your desired f-stop (from F0.95 to F16).
- The aperture ring is clickless, allowing for smooth, stepless adjustments, which is beneficial for video recording.

- Use a blower brush to remove dust and loose particles from the lens surfaces.
- For smudges or fingerprints, use a clean, soft microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics, along with a small amount of lens cleaning solution.
- Never use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals to clean the lens.
7.2 Storage
- Always attach the front and rear lens caps when the lens is not in use.
- Store the lens in a protective bag or case to prevent scratches and impacts.
- If storing for an extended period, consider using desiccant packets to prevent mold growth, especially in humid environments.
