3. Setup

3.1. Remote Control Battery Installation

The remote control requires 2x AAA batteries (not included). Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2x AAA batteries, matching the (+) and (-) terminals.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Aircraft Battery Charging

The aircraft is powered by an included rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery. Charge the battery before first use and whenever power is low.

  1. Connect the charging cable to the aircraft's charging port.
  2. Connect the other end of the charging cable to a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator light will show the charging status (refer to the specific indicator behavior in your product packaging if available).
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

3.3. Pairing the Transmitter and Aircraft

Before each flight, the remote control (transmitter) and the aircraft must be paired.

  1. Ensure both the aircraft and the remote control are powered off.
  2. Turn on the aircraft.
  3. Turn on the remote control.
  4. The indicator lights on both devices will flash, then become solid once pairing is successful.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Pre-Flight Checks

  • Ensure both aircraft and remote control batteries are fully charged.
  • Verify that the aircraft and remote control are successfully paired.
  • Check for any visible damage to the aircraft (wings, propellers, body).

4.2. Launching the Aircraft

The Sonic Evo is designed for hand-launching.

  1. Hold the airplane horizontally, pointing it into the wind.
  2. Gently toss the airplane forward.
  3. Immediately after launching, push the accelerator lever on the remote control upwards to engage maximum speed and gain altitude.

4.3. Flight Controls

The remote control features two channels for intuitive flight maneuvers:

  • Accelerator Lever (Left Stick): Pushing up increases speed and altitude; pulling down decreases speed and altitude.
  • Directional Lever (Right Stick): Moving left or right controls the airplane's turning direction.

Practice gentle movements initially to familiarize yourself with the controls.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the aircraft and remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the airplane and remote control in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the remote control if storing for extended periods.
  • Damage Inspection: Regularly inspect the aircraft for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the foam or bent propellers. While the material is durable, severe impacts can cause damage.
