2. Safety Information

Operating this equipment requires strict adherence to safety guidelines to prevent serious injury. Always prioritize safety.

General Safety Rules:

  • Read and understand the entire manual before operating the machine.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
  • Keep all bystanders, children, and pets at a safe distance (at least 50 feet/15 meters) from the operating area.

  • Use 87+ unleaded gasoline (NO ETHANOL recommended).
  • Engine oil is NOT included with the product. Refer to the engine manual for recommended oil type and capacity (typically 0.13 gal/0.5L).
  • Do not overfill the fuel tank (Max capacity: 0.73 gal/2.8L).
  • Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.

3. Setup and Assembly

The EFCUT 3-in-1 Chipper Shredder requires some assembly before first use. Follow these steps carefully.

Tools Required:

  • 13mm wrenches (two recommended)
  • Socket wrench set (optional, for easier assembly)

Assembly Steps:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Attach Wheels: Securely attach the wheels to the main frame using the provided hardware.
  3. Install Support Legs: Fasten the support legs to the base of the unit.
  4. Mount Hoppers: Attach the top hopper and side chute to the main body of the chipper. Ensure all bolts are tightened.
  5. Connect Discharge Bag: Attach the debris collection bag to the discharge chute. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent material from escaping.

  7. Add Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with 87+ unleaded gasoline (NO ETHANOL recommended). Do not overfill.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your EFCUT chipper shredder mulcher.

Starting the Engine:

  1. Ensure the machine is on a level surface and the discharge bag is securely attached.
  2. Check engine oil and fuel levels.
  3. Move the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
  4. Move the choke lever to the "CLOSED" position (for cold starts).
  5. Move the throttle lever to the "FAST" position.
  6. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
  7. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "OPEN" position.
  8. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before beginning operation.

Chipping and Shredding:

  • Side Chute (Chipping): For branches and limbs up to 3 inches in diameter. Feed material slowly and steadily into the side chute. Do not force material.
  • Top Hopper (Shredding): For smaller twigs, leaves, and brush with a maximum volume of 1/2 inch. Drop material into the top hopper.
  • Maintain a steady feeding pace to prevent clogging.
  • Avoid feeding wet material, as it can cause clogging.

Stopping the Engine:

  1. Allow the engine to idle for a few moments to cool down.
  2. Move the throttle lever to the "SLOW" or "IDLE" position.
  3. Move the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
  4. Move the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
