4. Setup and Installation
The Daikin Dual Zone system is designed for quick and easy installation, typically taking 1 to 2 hours for experienced installers. Due to the complexity involving refrigerant lines and electrical connections, professional installation by a certified HVAC technician is strongly recommended to ensure proper operation and warranty validity.
4.1. Site Selection
- Indoor Units: Choose locations that allow for optimal air distribution throughout the desired zones. Ensure sufficient space around the unit for maintenance and airflow.
- Outdoor Unit: Select a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight and obstructions. Ensure adequate clearance for airflow and service access. The provided wall bracket can be used for elevated mounting.
4.2. Mounting the Indoor Units
- Secure the mounting plate to the wall, ensuring it is level and at the appropriate height.
- Drill a hole through the wall for the refrigerant lines, communication cable, and drain hose.
- Connect the refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and drain hose to the indoor unit.
- Mount the indoor unit onto the mounting plate.
4.3. Mounting the Outdoor Unit
- Assemble and securely fasten the wall mounting bracket to a sturdy wall structure, ensuring it can support the weight of the outdoor unit.
- Carefully place the outdoor condenser unit onto the bracket or a prepared concrete pad.
- Connect the refrigerant lines from each indoor unit to the corresponding ports on the outdoor unit.
- Connect the electrical power supply and communication wiring to the outdoor unit.
4.4. Vacuuming and Leak Check
After all connections are made, the system must be thoroughly vacuumed to remove air and moisture from the refrigerant lines. A leak check must also be performed to ensure system integrity before releasing refrigerant.
4.5. Electrical Connections
Ensure all electrical connections are made according to the wiring diagram provided in the detailed installation manual and comply with local electrical codes. The system operates on 208-230V.
5. Operating Instructions
