Controls and Indicators

Familiarize yourself with the buttons and display indicators on your alarm clock radio.

Front Panel Display:

  • 1.2" Red LED Display: Shows current time, alarm times, and radio frequency.
  • PM Indicator: Lights up when the time is PM.
  • AL1-B / AL1-R Indicators: Light up when Alarm 1 is set to wake by Buzzer (B) or Radio (R).
  • AL2-B / AL2-R Indicators: Light up when Alarm 2 is set to wake by Buzzer (B) or Radio (R).

Top Panel Buttons (Typical Layout):

  • TIME SET: Used to set the current time.
  • ALARM 1 SET / ALARM 2 SET: Used to set Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 times and wake modes.
  • SNOOZE / SLEEP / DIMMER:
    • Press to activate snooze during an alarm.
    • Press and hold to activate/adjust Sleep Timer.
    • Press repeatedly to adjust display brightness (Dimmer).
  • RADIO ON/OFF: Turns the radio on or off.
  • BAND (AM/FM): Switches between AM and FM radio bands.
  • TUNE +/-: Adjusts radio frequency.
  • VOLUME +/-: Adjusts sound volume.
  • PRESET / MEMORY: Used to save and recall radio presets.

Setup

1. Power Connection

  1. Uncoil the AC power cord completely.
  2. Plug the AC power cord into a standard household AC outlet (120V, 60Hz).
  3. The unit is now powered on. The display will flash "12:00" or a similar default time, indicating it's ready for time setting.

2. Installing Memory Backup Batteries (Not Included)

To retain time and alarm settings during a power outage, install backup batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA size batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+ and -) inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  5. Note: The backup batteries only maintain time and alarm settings. The display will not light up and the alarm will not sound during a power outage when operating on backup batteries alone.

3. FM Antenna

For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the external FM wire antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal.

Operating Instructions

Setting the Current Time

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button until the hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button (often TUNE + or a dedicated button) repeatedly to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
  3. Press the MINUTE button (often TUNE - or a dedicated button) repeatedly to adjust the minutes.
  4. Press the TIME SET button again to confirm and save the time. The display will stop flashing.

Setting Alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2)

The unit features two independent alarms. The procedure is similar for both.

  1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button until the alarm hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button repeatedly to set the desired alarm hour. Observe the PM indicator.
  3. Press the MINUTE button repeatedly to set the desired alarm minutes.
  4. Press the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button again to select the wake mode:
    • Press once for Buzzer (AL1-B or AL2-B indicator lights up).
    • Press twice for Radio (AL1-R or AL2-R indicator lights up).
    • Press a third time to turn the alarm OFF (indicator turns off).
  5. The alarm is now set. The corresponding alarm indicator (AL1-B/R or AL2-B/R) will remain lit on the display.

To turn off a sounding alarm, press the RADIO ON/OFF button. The alarm will reset for the next day.

Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 9 minutes.

Radio Operation (AM/FM)

  1. Press the RADIO ON/OFF button to turn on the radio.
  2. Press the BAND button to select either AM or FM band.
  3. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune to your desired station. Press and hold TUNE +/- for automatic scanning to the next available station.
  4. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME +/- buttons.
  5. To turn off the radio, press the RADIO ON/OFF button again.

Setting Radio Presets

You can store your favorite stations for quick access.

  1. Tune to the desired radio station (see Radio Operation above).
  2. Press and hold the PRESET / MEMORY button until "P01" (or the next available preset number) flashes on the display.
  3. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to select the desired preset number (e.g., P01, P02, etc.).
  4. Press the PRESET / MEMORY button again to confirm and save the station to that preset.
  5. To recall a preset station, briefly press the PRESET / MEMORY button repeatedly to cycle through your saved stations.

Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.

  1. While the radio is playing, press the SLEEP button (often combined with SNOOZE/DIMMER) repeatedly to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
  2. The display will show the selected sleep time, then revert to the current time. The radio will turn off automatically after the chosen duration.

Dimmer Function

Adjust the brightness of the LED display.

  • Briefly press the DIMMER button (often combined with SNOOZE/SLEEP) repeatedly to cycle through different brightness levels (e.g., High, Medium, Low, Off).

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace backup batteries annually or when the memory backup function fails during a power outage. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, unplug it from the AC outlet and remove the backup batteries.

Troubleshooting
