This system includes 4K 8MP IP PoE Turret Cameras and an 8-Channel AI Network Video Recorder (NVR) with a pre-installed 2TB hard drive. 2. What's Included

3. Setup and Installation
3.1 NVR Setup
- Connect the NVR to a power source using the provided power adapter.
- Connect the NVR to a monitor using the HDMI cable.
- Connect the USB mouse to the NVR for navigation.
- Connect the NVR to your network router using the Ethernet cable for internet access and remote viewing capabilities.
- Follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup, including setting a password and configuring network settings.
3.2 Camera Installation
The cameras utilize Power over Ethernet (PoE), simplifying installation as a single Ethernet cable provides both power and data.
- Planning: Choose optimal locations for your cameras, considering field of view, lighting conditions, and proximity to the NVR or a PoE switch. Ensure the camera's IP67 rating is suitable for the environment.
- Mounting: Use the provided mounting template decal to mark drilling points. Securely mount the cameras using the screws and anchors.
- Cable Connection: Connect one end of the CAT5e cable to the camera's PoE port and the other end to an available PoE port on the NVR. Use the water-resistant casing for outdoor PoE connections to protect against moisture.
- Power On: Once all cameras are connected, power on the NVR. The cameras should automatically be detected and begin streaming video to the NVR.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 NVR Operation
The 8-Channel 4K NVR is the central hub for your security system. It supports up to 8 4K PoE security cameras and uses H.265 compression to optimize storage on the 2TB hard drive.
- Live View: Access the live feed from all connected cameras on your monitor.
- Recording: The NVR is configured to record continuously or based on motion detection. Review recording schedules and settings in the NVR menu.
- Playback: Use the NVR interface to search and play back recorded footage. The Smart Search feature allows for quick review of events.
- Backup: Export recorded footage to a USB drive for backup purposes.
4.2 Camera Features
Your Montavue cameras are equipped with advanced features to enhance surveillance:
- 8MP 4K Resolution: Provides ultra-high-definition video for clear and detailed images.
- Active Deterrence: When an alarm is triggered (e.g., by motion detection), the camera activates red and blue flashing lights and an audible siren to deter intruders. This feature can be scheduled.

- Smart Dual Illumination & Full-Color Night Vision: The camera defaults to infrared (IR) light in low ambient light. When a human or vehicle is detected, warm white LEDs activate to provide full-color images. After the subject leaves, the camera reverts to IR.
- Smart Motion Detection 4.0 (SMD 4.0): Advanced AI algorithms accurately detect humans up to 40ft and vehicles up to 60ft, significantly reducing false alerts from environmental factors.

4.3 MontavueGO Mobile Application
The MontavueGO app allows you to access and control your security system remotely from your PC/Mac, Android phone/tablet, iPhone, and iPad.
- Download: Download the MontavueGO app from your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
- Connect: Open the app and scan the QR code displayed on your NVR to sync your system.
- Features:
- Live viewing of all cameras.
- Playback of recorded footage.
- Control NVR settings.
- Receive push notifications for motion detection or other alerts.

- Hard Drive Health: Monitor the NVR's hard drive health through the system settings. Replace the hard drive if errors are detected.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables for damage, especially outdoor PoE connections, to prevent signal loss or power issues.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Video Signal from Camera:
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the camera and the NVR's PoE port.
- Verify the NVR is powered on.
- Check the cable for damage. Try a different PoE port or cable.
- NVR Not Displaying on Monitor (HDMI Issue):
- Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the NVR and the monitor.
- Try a different HDMI cable or monitor.
- Restart the NVR.
- False Motion Alerts:
- Adjust the sensitivity settings for Smart Motion Detection 4.0 in the NVR or app.
- Configure detection zones to exclude areas with frequent non-human/vehicle movement (e.g., trees swaying).
- Remote Access Issues (MontavueGO App):
- Ensure the NVR is connected to the internet.
