5. Setup
5.1 CPU Installation
- Open the CPU socket lever.
- Carefully align the CPU with the socket, ensuring the notches match. Do not force the CPU into the socket.
- Gently lower the CPU into the socket.
- Close the socket lever to secure the CPU.
- Apply thermal paste and install the CPU cooler according to its instructions.
5.2 RAM Installation
- Open the clips at both ends of the DDR4 DIMM slots.
- Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
5.3 Storage Device Installation
- Connect SATA data cables from your storage devices (HDD/SSD) to the SATA ports on the motherboard.
- Connect SATA power cables from your power supply to the storage devices.
- For M.2 SSDs, insert the M.2 module into the M.2 slot and secure it with the provided screw.
5.4 Expansion Card Installation
- Align your graphics card or other PCIe expansion card with the appropriate PCIe slot.
- Press down firmly until the card is seated securely in the slot.
- Secure the card to the computer case with a screw.
- Connect any necessary auxiliary power cables from the power supply to the graphics card.
5.5 Power Connections

- Connect the 4-pin or 8-pin CPU power connector from your power supply to the CPU power socket near the CPU.
5.6 Peripheral Connections
- Connect front panel headers (power button, reset button, USB, audio) to their respective pins on the motherboard. Refer to your computer case manual for pin assignments.
- Connect USB devices, Ethernet cables, and audio devices to the rear I/O panel ports.
6. Operation
6.1 First Boot
After all components are installed and connected, power on your system. The system should initiate the boot process. If no display appears, refer to the troubleshooting section.
6.2 BIOS/UEFI Access
To access the BIOS/UEFI setup utility, press the designated key (commonly DEL, F2, F10, or F12) during the initial boot sequence. This allows configuration of boot order, system settings, and hardware parameters.
6.3 Driver Installation
After installing your operating system, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard's chipset, audio, network, and any other integrated components. These drivers are typically provided by the operating system or can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the interior of your computer case to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating. Use compressed air to remove dust from fans, heatsinks, and motherboard components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
7.2 BIOS Updates
BIOS/UEFI updates can provide improved compatibility, stability, and new features. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS versions and follow their instructions carefully. Incorrect BIOS updates can render the motherboard inoperable.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, CPU power) are securely connected. Check the power supply unit (PSU) and wall outlet.
- No Display: Verify that the monitor is connected and powered on. Reseat the graphics card and RAM modules. Try booting with only one RAM stick.
- System Instability/Crashes: Check CPU and GPU temperatures. Ensure RAM is properly seated. Run memory diagnostic tools.
- Peripheral Not Detected: Ensure the device is properly connected. Check device manager for driver issues. Try a different port.
- BIOS Reset: If system settings are incorrect, you can clear the CMOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes or using the designated CMOS clear jumper (refer to motherboard diagram if available).
