4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

4.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

4.3 Storage

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the device.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new AAA alkaline batteries.
    • Check for any obstructions between the remote and the TV's infrared sensor.
    • Ensure you are within the effective range (typically up to 10 meters) and pointing the remote directly at the TV.
  • Buttons are inverted (e.g., Volume changes Channel):

This is a known characteristic for some AKAI TV models when using this replacement remote. There is no programming fix for this specific inversion. Users will need to adapt to the inverted functionality for these specific buttons. All other buttons should function as labeled.

  • Specific functions not working:

While this remote is designed to cover all functions of the original, some advanced or model-specific features might behave differently or not be supported. Refer to your TV's original manual for specific feature operations.
