1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the PWAY HDMI Extender Receiver (RX) unit, Model B0C36TPYL4. This receiver is designed to work exclusively with the PWAY PW-DT243 HDMI Extender Transmitter (TX) unit to extend HDMI signals over a single Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable. It supports both one-to-one direct connections and one-to-many configurations via a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet switch.
2. Package Contents
Please verify that all items are present in your package:
- PWAY HDMI Extender Receiver (RX) Unit
- Power Adapter for RX Unit

3. Product Overview
The PWAY HDMI Extender Receiver features essential ports and indicators for connectivity and status monitoring.

Port and Indicator Descriptions:
- UTP: RJ45 port for connecting to the Ethernet cable (Cat5e/6/7) from the Transmitter or Gigabit switch.
- DC5-12V: Power input port for the included power adapter.
- PWR: Power indicator LED. Illuminates when the device is powered on.
- STA: Status indicator LED. Indicates signal status (e.g., blinking for activity, solid for stable connection).
- HD OUT: HDMI output port for connecting to a display device (monitor, TV).
4. Setup
The PWAY HDMI Extender RX unit can be configured in two primary ways: one-to-one direct connection or one-to-many via a Gigabit switch.
4.1. One-to-One Direct Connection
This configuration extends an HDMI signal from a single transmitter to a single receiver over a dedicated Ethernet cable.
- Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., PC, media player) to the HDMI IN port on the PWAY HDMI Extender Transmitter (PW-DT243).
- Connect one end of a Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable to the UTP port on the Transmitter.
- Connect the other end of the Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable to the UTP port on the PWAY HDMI Extender Receiver (RX). Ensure the cable length does not exceed 500 feet (150 meters) for optimal performance.
- Connect an HDMI cable from the HD OUT port on the Receiver to the HDMI input of your display device (e.g., monitor, TV).
- Connect the included power adapters to both the Transmitter and Receiver units, then plug them into power outlets.
- Power on all connected devices. The PWR and STA indicators on both units should illuminate, indicating a successful connection.

4.2. One-to-Many Connection via Gigabit Switch
This configuration allows a single transmitter to send an HDMI signal to multiple receivers and displays through a Gigabit Ethernet switch.
- Connect an HDMI cable from your source device to the HDMI IN port on the PWAY HDMI Extender Transmitter (PW-DT243).
- Connect a Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable from the UTP port on the Transmitter to an available port on a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet switch.
- For each PWAY HDMI Extender Receiver (RX) unit, connect a Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable from its UTP port to an available port on the same Gigabit Ethernet switch.
- Connect an HDMI cable from the HD OUT port of each Receiver to its respective display device.
- Connect the included power adapters to the Transmitter and all Receiver units, then plug them into power outlets. Power on the Gigabit switch and all connected devices.
- Important: Use an unmanaged or dedicated Gigabit switch. If using a Smart Gigabit Switch, configure VLANs to isolate video traffic from other network traffic to prevent interference. Do not connect to your home internet router or a shared network switch, as this can cause signal issues and network performance degradation.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the setup is complete and all devices are powered on, the PWAY HDMI Extender system should operate automatically.
- Ensure the PWR LED on the receiver is solid, indicating it is receiving power.
- The STA LED on the receiver should indicate a stable connection to the transmitter. If it is blinking or off, check all cable connections and power.
- The extended HDMI signal should appear on the connected display(s) without delay.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PWAY HDMI Extender system, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Picture or Intermittent Signal:
- Verify that both the Transmitter and Receiver units are powered on and their respective PWR LEDs are illuminated.
- Check all HDMI cable connections between source, transmitter, receiver, and display. Ensure they are securely plugged in.
- Inspect the Cat5e/6/7 Ethernet cable for damage and ensure it is properly terminated and securely connected to both the Transmitter and Receiver (or Gigabit switch).
- Ensure the Ethernet cable length does not exceed the maximum recommended distance of 500 feet (150 meters).
- If using a Gigabit switch for one-to-many setup, confirm it is a dedicated or unmanaged switch. If it's a smart switch, verify VLAN configuration isolates the video traffic. Avoid using home routers or shared network switches.
- Test with a different HDMI cable or Ethernet cable if possible.
- Power cycle all devices (source, transmitter, receiver, display, and switch) by unplugging and replugging their power adapters.
- Compatibility Issues with Existing Setups:
- Be aware that hardware revisions can occur. If you are expanding an existing PWAY HDMI Extender system, ensure the new RX unit is compatible with your existing TX unit. Mixing different hardware revisions may lead to incompatibility. It is recommended to purchase units from the same batch or as a complete set when expanding.
