4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your tectake office chair. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage.

  1. Attach Casters to Star Base: Insert each of the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the star base. Push firmly until they click into place.
  2. Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the central hole of the star base. Cover the gas lift with the plastic cover.
  3. Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Ensure the front of the mechanism plate faces the front of the seat. Secure with screws and washers using the provided Allen key.
  4. Attach Armrests to Seat: Attach the armrests to the sides of the seat cushion using the designated screws. Do not fully tighten yet.
  5. Attach Backrest to Armrests and Seat: Align the backrest with the armrests and the rear of the seat. Secure the backrest to the armrests and the seat using the remaining screws. Once all screws are in place, tighten all armrest and backrest screws evenly.
  6. Connect Seat Assembly to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and backrest onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring the central hole of the mechanism plate aligns with the top of the gas lift.

5. Operating Instructions

Your tectake office chair offers several adjustment features to customize your seating experience:

  • Height Adjustment: To raise the chair, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat while taking your weight off the seat. To lower the chair, lift the lever while remaining seated. Release the lever to lock the height.
  • Tilt Function: The chair features a continuous tilt mechanism. To activate the tilt, pull the lever outwards. To lock the chair in an upright position, push the lever inwards.
  • Tilt Tension Adjustment: The round knob located under the seat (usually at the front) allows you to adjust the tension of the tilt mechanism. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to tilt) or counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to tilt).

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your office chair:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the faux leather surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap solution and then wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Retighten as necessary to maintain stability and safety.
  • Caster Care: Keep the casters free of hair, dust, and debris to ensure smooth movement. Clean them regularly with a brush or vacuum cleaner.
