Care and Maintenance
Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your slow cooker.
Cleaning
- Always unplug the slow cooker from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Stoneware Insert and Glass Lid: These parts are generally dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch surfaces.
- Heating Base: Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
- Stubborn Residue: For food that is baked on, fill the stoneware insert with warm, soapy water and let it soak for a few hours before cleaning.
Storage
Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the slow cooker with the lid and stoneware insert assembled inside the base to protect them from dust and damage. Store in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your slow cooker, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Slow cooker does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not functioning; unit malfunction. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another appliance. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Food is not cooking properly or is undercooked. | Incorrect temperature setting; insufficient cooking time; lid not sealed properly; frequent lid removal. | Verify the correct temperature (LOW/HIGH) and cooking time are set for your recipe. Ensure the lid is seated firmly on the stoneware insert. Avoid lifting the lid frequently, as this releases heat and extends cooking time. |
| Digital display is blank or flickering. | Power interruption; internal electrical issue. | Unplug the unit for a few minutes, then plug it back in. If the problem continues, contact customer support. |
| Lid latch does not secure. | Improper alignment; obstruction. | Ensure the lid is correctly positioned on the stoneware insert and the latch mechanism is free of debris. Align the latch with the slot on the base handle before sliding to lock. |
