- Attach your desired cleaner head (e.g., Motorbar cleaner head) or accessory tool to the end of the wand until it clicks into place.
- For handheld use, remove the wand and attach accessories directly to the main body.
Charging and Docking
The Dyson V11 includes a docking station for convenient storage and charging.
- Mount the docking station to a wall in a suitable location near a power outlet.
- Connect the charger to the docking station.

Operating the Vacuum
The Dyson V11 features an LCD screen that displays real-time performance, including run time countdown, power mode, and maintenance alerts.
Power Modes
The vacuum offers three distinct power modes to suit different cleaning tasks:
- Auto Mode: Provides an optimal balance of power and run time for everyday cleaning. The vacuum intelligently adapts suction power to different floor types.
- Eco Mode: Maximizes run time for longer cleaning sessions, ideal for lighter debris.
- Boost Mode: Delivers intensive suction for stubborn dirt and deep cleaning tasks. Note that this mode reduces run time.
To switch between modes, press the button located on the top of the main body, above the LCD screen.

Using Attachments
The Dyson V11 comes with several Dyson-engineered accessories for various cleaning needs:
- Motorbar™ Cleaner Head: Designed for deep cleaning carpets and hard floors, with de-tangling technology to clear hair from the brush bar.
- Hair Screw Tool: Features a conical, anti-tangle brush bar, ideal for removing long hair and pet hair from upholstery, pet beds, and car seats.
- Combination Tool: A two-in-one tool with a wide nozzle and brush, suitable for quick switching between cleaning and dusting tasks.
- Crevice Tool: Perfect for cleaning in tight gaps, narrow spaces, and along edges.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your Dyson V11.
Emptying the Bin
Empty the clear bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level. Do not overfill.
- Hold the vacuum with the bin pointing downwards.
- Push the red lever on the side of the bin to release the base and empty contents into a waste bin.
- Close the bin base firmly until it clicks into place.
Washing the Filter
The filter should be washed at least once a month, or more frequently if used heavily. The LCD screen will display a filter maintenance alert when cleaning is due.
- Twist the filter counter-clockwise from the top of the main body and pull it away.
- Wash the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear. Squeeze and twist to remove excess water.
- Leave the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm, dry place with good airflow. Do not dry in a tumble dryer, microwave, or near a naked flame.
- Once completely dry, reassemble the filter onto the main body by twisting clockwise until it clicks.
Cleaning the Cleaner Head and Tools
Inspect the cleaner head and tools regularly for blockages or debris. The Motorbar™ cleaner head features hair removal vanes to minimize tangles, but occasional cleaning may still be required.
- Disconnect the cleaner head or tool from the wand.
- Remove any tangled hair or debris from the brush bar using scissors if necessary.
- Wipe down the exterior of the tools with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are dry before reattaching.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Dyson V11, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Power/Short Run Time: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Check the charger and power outlet connection.
- Reduced Suction: Empty the dust bin. Check for blockages in the cleaner head, wand, or main body. Clean the filter as per maintenance instructions.
- Cleaner Head Not Spinning: Check for blockages in the brush bar. Ensure the cleaner head is securely attached.
- LCD Screen Alerts: Follow the instructions displayed on the LCD screen for specific maintenance alerts (e.g., filter cleaning, blockage).
