The BOYA BOYALINK is an all-in-one wireless lavalier microphone system designed for a wide range of recording scenarios, including video recording, vlogging, live streaming, and interviews. The BOYALINK system consists of compact transmitters, a versatile receiver, and a portable charging case. Each component is designed for ease of use and optimal performance.

Transmitter (TX)

  • In-built Microphone Capsule: Omnidirectional microphone for 360° sound pickup.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Charging

  1. Before first use, place both transmitters (TX) and the receiver (RX) into the charging case.
  2. Connect the charging case to a power source using the provided USB-A to USB-C cable.
  3. Ensure all units are fully charged for optimal performance. The charging indicators on the case will show the charging status.

4.2 Connecting the Receiver to Your Device

The BOYALINK receiver features interchangeable connectors for wide compatibility:

  1. Select the appropriate adapter: Choose between the USB-C, MFi Lightning, or 3.5mm TRS adapter based on your recording device (smartphone, tablet, DSLR camera, camcorder).
  2. Attach the adapter: Securely connect the chosen adapter to the receiver's USB-C port.
  3. Connect to your device: Plug the receiver with the attached adapter into your recording device's corresponding port.

4.3 Powering On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power Button on both the transmitter(s) and the receiver until the indicator light illuminates.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power Button on both the transmitter(s) and the receiver until the indicator light turns off.
  • The units will automatically pair upon powering on if they were previously paired. If not, use the AUTO-REPAIRING function (refer to Troubleshooting).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Attaching the Transmitter

Clip the transmitter to your clothing, ensuring the microphone capsule is facing towards your mouth for optimal sound capture. For outdoor use, attach the furry windscreen to minimize wind noise.

5.2 Adjusting Gain (Volume)

On the transmitter, use the + and - buttons to adjust the microphone's input gain. There are 6 levels of gain adjustment. Press - multiple times until the LED flashes to indicate the lowest level (level 0), then press + to increase the gain as needed.

5.3 One-Click Noise Cancellation

To activate the noise cancellation feature, press the NR button on the transmitter. The indicator light will change to confirm activation. This feature helps reduce ambient noise for clearer recordings, especially in noisy environments.

5.4 Mute Function

Press the MUTE button on the transmitter to temporarily silence the microphone input. Press it again to unmute.

5.5 Mono/Stereo Recording

The receiver allows you to switch between mono and stereo recording modes. Use the Mono/Stereo Toggle button on the receiver to select your desired output. In stereo mode, each transmitter's audio will be recorded on a separate channel (left and right).

6. Charging and Battery Life

The BOYALINK system is designed for extended use with its efficient charging case.

  • A fully charged transmitter can operate for approximately 6-10 hours.
  • The charging case provides up to 30 hours of total operating time, allowing for approximately 2 full recharges of both transmitters and the receiver.
  • The charge time for each transmitter is about 1.5 hours when placed in the charging case.
  • The charging case has a battery capacity of 1000mAh.
  • The receiver with a Type-C interface supports charging and using simultaneously.

9. Maintenance

  • Keep the device dry. Do not expose it to water or moisture.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the furry windscreen is used outdoors to reduce wind noise.
  • Check for other 2.4GHz devices that might cause interference.
Units not pairing
  • Ensure both TX and RX are fully charged.
  • Power off and then power on both units. They should automatically re-pair.
  • If automatic re-pairing fails, refer to the full manual on the BOYA website for specific AUTO-REPAIRING instructions.
Charging case not charging devices
  • Ensure the charging case itself is charged (check indicator lights).
  • Verify that the transmitters and receiver are correctly seated in the charging contacts.
