4. Setup and Pairing

The BS-PTT device offers two primary methods for pairing with your radio: via a mobile application or directly through the radio's control panel.

4.1. Pairing via Mobile App (Recommended for GMRS-PRO)

  1. Ensure your BTECH GMRS-PRO radio is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled.
  2. Open the GMRS-PRO mobile application on your smartphone.
  3. Navigate to the Bluetooth settings within the app.
  4. Press and hold the PTT button on the BS-PTT device until the indicator light flashes red, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  5. Select the BS-PTT device from the list of available Bluetooth devices in the app to complete pairing.

4.2. Pairing via Radio Panel (For UV-PRO and other compatible radios)

  1. Power on your BTECH UV-PRO radio and ensure Bluetooth is active.
  2. Access the Bluetooth menu on your radio's display.
  3. Initiate a device search from the radio's menu.
  4. Press and hold the PTT button on the BS-PTT device until the indicator light flashes red.
  5. Select the BS-PTT device from the list displayed on your radio's screen to establish the connection.

5. Operating Instructions

Once successfully paired, the BS-PTT device functions as a remote Push-to-Talk button for your radio, enabling communication through a connected HFP-compatible Bluetooth headset or audio system.

  1. Ensure your radio and paired Bluetooth headset are powered on and connected.
  2. To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the BS-PTT device. Speak clearly into your Bluetooth headset's microphone.
  3. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.

The BS-PTT device comes with a versatile Velcro strap for secure attachment in various locations, providing convenience during use.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Battery Replacement

The BS-PTT device uses a CR1632 button battery. When the device no longer powers on or exhibits inconsistent performance, the battery may need replacement.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Carefully twist the cover counter-clockwise to open. It may be tight; use a non-abrasive tool if necessary, taking care not to damage the device.
  3. Remove the old CR1632 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR1632 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Replace the cover and twist clockwise to secure it.

Note: Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

7.2. Cleaning and Care

8. Troubleshooting
