2. Setup
2.1 Package Contents
Before first use, please verify that all components are present in the package:

- CR5 battery (pre-installed)

2.2 Power Supply
The calculator is equipped with dual power supply modes: solar power and battery power. The pre-installed CR5 battery provides power when solar energy is insufficient. For optimal performance, ensure the solar panels are exposed to light during use.

2.3 Stylus Usage and Storage
The stylus is essential for using the integrated writing pad. It is stored securely in a dedicated slot on the side of the calculator. To remove, gently pull the stylus from its slot. To store, push it back into the slot until it clicks into place.

3.1 Calculator Functions
The NEWYES Scientific Calculator offers 417 functions, covering a wide range of mathematical operations from basic arithmetic to complex scientific calculations. The 3-line display allows for simultaneous input of up to 199 characters and display of results.
- Basic Operations: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Scientific Functions: Trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential, power, root functions.
- Advanced Modes: CALC, SOLVE, Base-N, EQN (Equation), MATRIX, TABLE, VECTOR, Fractions, Variable Statistics, Complex number calculations, Linear regression, Base arithmetic, standard deviation, and polar-rectangular conversions.
To switch between different calculation modes, press the MODE SETUP button and select the desired option from the menu displayed on the screen.

3.2 Using the Writing Pad
The integrated LCD writing pad allows you to jot down notes, formulas, or intermediate steps directly alongside your calculations. Use the provided stylus to write on the pad. The writing appears in green on the black background.

3.3 Clearing and Locking the Writing Pad
To clear the content on the writing pad, press the Clear button located above the writing pad. This will erase all current notes.
The writing pad features a lock switch to prevent accidental erasure of your notes. Locate the small switch on the side of the device, near the top of the writing pad. When the switch is in the locked position, the clear button will be inactive, preserving your notes. To erase, ensure the switch is in the unlocked position.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
To clean the calculator and writing pad, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks on the writing pad, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
4.2 Battery Replacement
The calculator uses one CR5 battery. If the display becomes dim or the calculator does not power on reliably, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the battery compartment cover for specific instructions on how to open and replace the battery. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the new battery.
4.3 Storage
When not in use, fold the calculator to protect the screen and keypad. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The foldable design makes it compact and convenient for storage in a schoolbag or backpack.
