3. Operating Instructions
Learn how to effectively use your metal detector to find hidden treasures.
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF switch on the control handle for 3 seconds to turn the device on. A short press will turn it off.
- Environmental Calibration: If the detector shows no response upon turning on, place the search coil in an open space and press the ON/OFF switch again. This performs environmental calibration.
- Scanning Technique: Hold the metal detector with the search coil parallel to the ground. Swing the search coil from side to side in a slow, sweeping motion while walking.
- Understanding the LCD Display: The intuitive LCD display features a puppy and bones animation.
- Signal Strength: The bars on the display indicate the strength of the detected metal signal. More bars mean a stronger signal.
- Proximity Indicator: The animated bones will increase in number as you get closer to a metallic object, indicating a stronger signal.
- Audio Alert: The device will emit a beeping sound when metal is detected. The frequency and intensity of the beep will increase as you get closer to the target.
- Detection Depth: The metal detector can detect objects up to 4 inches deep, making it suitable for finding coins, jewelry, and other small metallic items.

4. Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, especially in sandy or dirty environments, wipe down the search coil and stem with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Remove the 9V battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage. Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen.
- Storage: Store the metal detector in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The foldable search coil design allows for compact storage.
5. Troubleshooting
- Device does not turn on:
- Ensure the 9V battery is correctly installed with proper polarity.
- Check if the battery has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Perform environmental calibration by placing the search coil in an open space and pressing the ON/OFF switch.
- Inconsistent or weak detection:
- Ensure the search coil is parallel to the ground and swept slowly.
- Check for any loose connections between the stem and control handle.
- Avoid areas with high electromagnetic interference (e.g., near power lines, large metal structures).
- False signals/beeping without metal:
- Perform environmental calibration in a clear area.
- Ensure the search coil is not touching the ground or dense vegetation.
