Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Donner N-25 MIDI Keyboard, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe down the surface of the keyboard. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the plastic material.
- Storage: Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. When not in use, consider covering it to protect against dust accumulation.
- Handling: Handle the keyboard with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts, which can damage internal components or keys.
- Connectivity: Always insert and remove USB cables gently to prevent damage to the ports.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Donner N-25 MIDI Keyboard, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power/Not Recognized:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer/device.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Test with a different USB-C cable if available.
- For mobile devices, ensure your OTG adapter is functioning correctly and compatible.
- No Sound Output:
- The N-25 is a MIDI controller and does not produce sound on its own. It must be connected to a computer or mobile device running music software (DAW, virtual instrument, etc.) to generate sound.
- Check your DAW or music software settings to ensure the N-25 is selected as the MIDI input device.
- Verify that the correct virtual instrument or sound is loaded and active in your software.
- Keys Feel Stiff:
- Some users have reported initial stiffness in keys. Continued use typically improves key action.
- Ensure the keyboard is on a flat, stable surface.
- Software/Firmware Issues:
- Ensure your DAW or music software is up to date.
- Visit the official Donner website for any available firmware updates for the N-25.
- If experiencing issues with specific software (e.g., Melodics), refer to their support resources or video tutorials.
