4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Unfolding the Wheelchair

The Veleco COSMO is designed for easy folding and unfolding. Follow these steps to prepare your wheelchair for use:

1. Place the folded wheelchair on a flat, stable surface.
2. Grasp the backrest and gently pull upwards until the frame begins to unfold.
3. Push down on the seat frame until it locks securely into place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged.
4. Adjust the footrest to the desired position.

4.2 Attaching the Joystick

The joystick can be mounted on either the left or right armrest for user convenience.

2. Slide the joystick into the bracket until it clicks into place.
3. Connect the joystick cable to the corresponding port on the wheelchair. Ensure a secure connection.

4.3 Battery Installation and Charging

The wheelchair comes with a 13 Ah lithium-ion battery. Ensure it is properly installed and charged before first use.

1. Locate the battery compartment, typically under the seat.
2. Insert the battery into the compartment, ensuring it is seated firmly.
3. Connect the battery cable to the wheelchair's power system.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

• Forward: Gently push the joystick forward. The further you push, the faster the wheelchair will move (up to the set speed limit).

• Turning: Push the joystick left or right to turn in the desired direction.
• Stopping: Release the joystick. The electromagnetic brakes will automatically engage, bringing the wheelchair to a smooth stop.

5.3 Speed Adjustment

Use the speed control buttons on the joystick to adjust the maximum speed.

• Press the '+' button to increase speed.
• Press the '-' button to decrease speed.
• The speed indicator lights on the joystick will show the current speed setting.

5.4 Electric Horn

Press the horn button on the joystick to alert others of your presence.
