5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement (Alert Watch)

The alert watch uses a 12V23A alkaline battery. When the battery is low, the watch's indicator light may not illuminate, or the signal range may decrease.

  1. Carefully open the back casing of the alert watch.
  2. Remove the old 12V23A battery.
  3. Insert a new 12V23A alkaline battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the back casing securely.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the receiver and alert watch with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or submerging the receiver in water. While the watch is water-resistant, it is not designed for prolonged submersion.

5.3 Connectivity

Ensure the receiver remains plugged into a power source and is within range of a stable 2.4GHz WiFi network for continuous operation and remote alerts.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Alarm from Receiver / No App Notification:
    • Check if the receiver is powered on and plugged in.
    • Verify the receiver's WiFi connection. The status indicator light should be solid green. If blinking, re-pair with WiFi.
    • Ensure your smartphone has an active internet connection and the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app is running in the background with notifications enabled.
    • Check the battery in the alert watch. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure the alert watch is within the wireless range of the receiver (up to 131ft/40m in open areas).
  • False Alarms:
    • Ensure the alert watch button is not accidentally pressed by clothing or movement.
    • Check for any environmental interference that might trigger the button.
  • Receiver Disconnects from WiFi:
    • Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal. The system does not support 5GHz.
    • Ensure the receiver is within optimal range of your WiFi router.
    • Restart your WiFi router and the receiver unit.
  • App Not Receiving Alerts Remotely:
    • Confirm the receiver is connected to WiFi.
    • Ensure your smartphone has an active internet connection.
    • Check app notification settings on your phone and within the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app.
