Setup
1. Assembly
- Insert the handle into the main steam mop unit until it clicks securely into place.
- Attach the mop head to the bottom of the main unit.
- Place a microfiber mop pad onto the mop head, ensuring it adheres firmly to the hook-and-loop fasteners.
2. Filling the Water Tank
- Locate the water tank on the main unit. Press the red buttons on both sides of the tank to release and remove it.
- Open the red latch on the water tank.
- Using the provided water funnel, carefully fill the tank with distilled water or Dirt Devil Steam Water solution. Do not overfill.
- Close the red latch and reinsert the water tank into the main unit until it clicks securely.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On and Heating
- Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Press the power button on the unit. The steam mop will be ready to use in approximately 30 seconds.
2. Selecting Steam Modes
- The Dirt Devil Steam Mop features 3 steam settings for customized cleaning.
- Press the steam mode button repeatedly to cycle through the low, medium, and high steam settings. Select the appropriate setting for your floor type and cleaning needs.
3. Cleaning Your Floors
- Gently glide the steam mop across your sealed hard floors. The 180-degree swivel head allows for easy maneuverability around furniture and into tight spaces.
- The steam mop is suitable for sealed hardwood, vinyl, tile, and grout.
- For stubborn spots, hold the mop over the area for a few seconds to allow the steam to penetrate.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning Microfiber Pads
- After each use, remove the microfiber mop pad from the mop head.
- The pads are machine washable. Wash them with similar colors and mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
- Air dry the pads flat to maintain their shape and effectiveness.
2. Replacing the Hard Water Filter
- To maintain optimal steam performance and prevent mineral buildup, replace the hard water filter every 6-8 weeks, depending on water hardness and usage.
- The filter is located behind the water tank. Remove the water tank, then gently pull out the old filter and insert a new one.
3. Emptying the Water Tank
- Always empty any remaining water from the tank after each use to prevent stagnant water and potential mineral deposits.
