1. Safety Information

3. Setup

Setting up your GOOTOP Electric Mosquito Zapper is straightforward. Follow these steps for optimal performance:

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the zapper from its packaging.
2. Placement:
   • For best results, place the bug zapper 3 feet above the floor.
   • Position the zapper in a dark environment or use it at night, as the blue-violet light is most effective in attracting insects when other light sources are minimal.
   • If using outdoors, ensure it is placed under a covered area to protect it from rain and direct moisture.
   • Avoid placing it too close to where people are sitting, as it is designed to attract insects away from you.
3. Power Connection: Plug the 3-prong power cord into a suitable 90-130V AC outlet. The device will start working immediately.

4. Operating Instructions

The GOOTOP Electric Mosquito Zapper operates automatically once plugged in. There are no additional buttons or settings required for basic operation.

• Activation: Simply plug the device into a power outlet. The blue-violet light will illuminate, indicating it is active and attracting insects.
• Optimal Use: For best results, turn off other lights and close windows and doors in the area where the zapper is operating. This minimizes competing light sources and maximizes the zapper's attraction power.
• Recommended Duration: Turn on the bug zapper for at least 3 hours before anyone enters the room or outdoor area to pre-clear the space of flying insects.
• Continuous Use: For better and continuous results, especially during peak insect seasons, use the zapper continuously for 3-5 days.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and effectiveness of your bug zapper.

Cleaning the Removable Tray:

1. Unplug: Always unplug the zapper from the power outlet before cleaning.
2. Remove Tray: Gently twist the removable tray at the bottom of the unit counter-clockwise and pull it out.
3. Empty Debris: Dispose of the accumulated insect debris.
4. Clean Tray: Use the provided brush to clean any remaining insects from the tray and the electric grid. You can also rinse the tray with water.
5. Dry and Reinstall: Ensure the tray is completely dry before screwing it back into place clockwise.
6. Frequency: The tray needs to be emptied and cleaned regularly to keep the bug zapper working efficiently.

Replacing the Bulb:

If the bug zapper stops attracting insects or the light dims significantly, the bulb may need replacement.

• Unplug: Ensure the zapper is unplugged from the power source.
• Access Bulb: Refer to the product's internal design to safely access and remove the old bulb.
• Install New Bulb: Insert a new 15W U-tube bulb (4-pin base) into the socket. Ensure it is securely seated.
• Test: Plug the zapper back in to confirm the new bulb is working.
