4. Setup
- Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the LogiLink EM0004 from its packaging.
- Plug into Wall Socket: Insert the energy cost meter directly into a standard 230V, 50Hz wall outlet. The display will illuminate.
- Rotate Display (Optional): Adjust the display angle up to 180° for optimal visibility.
- Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the front of the energy cost meter.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Setting the Electricity Tariff
To calculate energy costs, you must first enter your local electricity tariff (cost per kWh).
- Press and hold the MODE button for approximately 3 seconds until the cost setting mode is activated. The display will show "COST" and a flashing digit.
- Use the UP button to increase the flashing digit.
- Press the MODE button briefly to move to the next digit.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your desired tariff (e.g., 0.25 for €0.25 per kWh) is entered.
- Press and hold the MODE button again for 3 seconds to save the tariff and exit the setting mode.
5.2. Navigating Display Modes
Press the MODE button briefly to cycle through the different display modes. The available modes are:
- Voltage (V): Displays the current line voltage (e.g., 230.0V).
- Current (A): Shows the current drawn by the connected appliance.
- Power (W): Indicates the real-time power consumption of the appliance.
- Frequency (Hz): Displays the mains frequency (e.g., 50.0Hz).
- Total Energy (kWh): Accumulates the total energy consumed since the last reset.
- Total Cost: Displays the total calculated cost based on the accumulated energy and set tariff.

5.3. Resetting Total Energy/Cost
To reset the accumulated total energy (kWh) and total cost, press and hold the UP button for approximately 3 seconds while in the Total Energy (kWh) or Total Cost display mode. The values will reset to zero.
