6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
Your Casio Illuminator AE1500WH watch is equipped with a CR2032 battery, designed to last approximately 10 years. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is highly recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
6.2 Water Resistance
This watch is rated for 100 meters (10 ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, showering, and swimming. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Do not operate the buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.
6.3 General Care
- Clean the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then wipe dry.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold), direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or strong magnetic fields.
- Protect the watch from strong impacts or shocks.
- Avoid contact with solvents, gasoline, aerosols, adhesives, paints, etc., as they may cause discoloration or damage to the resin case and band.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Display is Blank or Dim
This usually indicates a low battery. Refer to Section 6.1 for battery replacement recommendations.
7.2 Buttons are Unresponsive
Ensure the watch is not wet or submerged when attempting to press buttons. If the issue persists, a full reset may be required (consult Casio support for specific reset procedures for your model), or it could indicate an internal malfunction.
7.3 Time is Inaccurate
Re-adjust the time and date as per Section 4.1. If the watch continues to lose or gain time significantly, it may require servicing.
