CuddeLink Wireless Network Setup
The CuddeLink system allows cameras to form a wireless network. Each camera can function as a 'Home' unit or a 'Remote' unit. A 'Home' unit collects images from 'Remote' units. For cellular transmission, a CuddeLink Cell unit (sold separately) can be linked to the 'Home' unit to send images to your phone.
- Network Capacity: The CuddeLink system supports a network of up to 24 cameras.
- Remote Placement: Remote cameras can be placed in areas without cellular service, as they will relay images through the network to a Home unit or CuddeLink Cell unit that has service.
5. Operating Instructions
Once set up, your CuddeLink camera operates based on the configured settings:
- Trigger Speed: The camera activates in approximately 1/4 second when motion is detected.
- Delay Settings: Configurable delays range from 5 seconds to 5 minutes between captures. The camera also features a patented auto-camera delay function.
- Sensitivity: The 3rd Gen sensor offers 7 sensitivity settings to optimize detection for various environments and animal sizes.
- Timelapse Modes: Supports dual timelapse modes, including Prime Time and standard timelapse, for monitoring activity over extended periods.
- Image Retrieval: Images are stored on the SD card. For wireless retrieval, ensure your cameras are properly configured within the CuddeLink network. Images can be retrieved directly from the Home unit's SD card or transmitted via a CuddeLink Cell unit.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your camera:
- Battery Replacement: Replace D-cell batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- SD Card Management: Regularly check and format or replace SD cards to prevent storage issues.
- Cleaning: Keep the camera lens, IR LEDs, and sensor window clean using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials.
- Housing Inspection: Periodically inspect the camera housing for any damage or signs of wear that could compromise its weather resistance (IP54 rating).
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Camera not powering on | Dead or incorrectly inserted batteries | Replace batteries; ensure correct polarity. |
| No images captured | Incorrect settings, full SD card, or sensor obstruction | Check settings (sensitivity, delay); format/replace SD card; clear sensor path. |
| Poor image quality | Dirty lens, low light, or incorrect focus | Clean lens; ensure adequate lighting; check camera placement. |
| Wireless connection issues | Distance, obstructions, or network configuration errors | Reduce distance between cameras; clear line of sight; reconfigure CuddeLink network. |
