4. Setup and Installation
The eLinkSmart T8 lock is designed for easy DIY installation. Follow these steps to install your new smart door knob:
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door thickness is between 1-3/16" to 2-1/8" (30mm - 55mm). The lock latch is adjustable for backsets of 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm).
- Install the Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the door edge, ensuring the arrow on the latch points towards the door frame. Secure with screws.
- Install the Exterior Handle: Feed the cable from the exterior handle through the latch bolt opening and align the handle with the door.
- Install the Interior Handle: Connect the cable from the exterior handle to the interior handle. Align the interior handle and secure both handles together using the provided mounting screws.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior handle and insert 4 AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.

5.1 Unlocking Methods
The eLinkSmart T8 offers four convenient ways to unlock your door:

5.1.1 Fingerprint Unlock
Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor located on the handle. The lock will unlock instantly upon successful recognition.

5.1.2 Passcode Unlock
Enter your registered passcode on the keypad. The lock supports up to 100 passcodes. For added security, utilize the anti-peeping feature by entering random digits before or after your actual passcode.

5.1.3 App Unlock (Bluetooth)
Download the eLinkSmart app on your smartphone. Pair your lock via Bluetooth. You can then unlock the door directly from the app, manage users, add/delete fingerprints and passcodes, and view access logs.
5.1.4 Mechanical Key Unlock
In case of emergency or battery depletion, use the provided mechanical keys to unlock the door manually.
5.2 Locking the Door
The lock will automatically re-lock after a set period (configurable via app) once unlocked. You can also manually lock the door by lifting the handle or pressing a specific button (refer to app settings for details).

6.1 Battery Management
