1. Introduction
The Emerson CKSW0555 Smartset Wireless Charging Alarm Clock Radio is designed to provide convenient timekeeping, alarm functions, FM radio, and wireless charging capabilities. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your device.

2. Setup
2.1 Initial Power-Up and SmartSet™ Automatic Time Setting
The Emerson CKSW0555 features the patented SmartSet™ Automatic Time Setting System. Upon first plugging in the unit, the clock will automatically set itself to the correct year, month, date, day of the week, and time. This system also automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time (DST) and maintains settings after power interruptions using the built-in button cell battery backup.
- Unpack the unit and place it on a stable, flat surface.
- Connect the non-detachable AC adapter to a standard wall outlet.
- The display will illuminate, and the time will automatically set. Allow a few moments for the system to synchronize.
2.2 Setting Time Manually (If Needed)
While the SmartSet™ system is highly accurate, you may manually adjust the time if necessary (e.g., for different time zones).
- Press and hold the CLOCK SET button until the hour digits begin to flash.
- Use the TUNE+ or TUNE- buttons to adjust the hour. Pay attention to the AM/PM indicator.
- Press the CLOCK SET button again to confirm the hour, and the minute digits will flash.
- Use the TUNE+ or TUNE- buttons to adjust the minutes.
- Press the CLOCK SET button once more to save the time.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Wireless Charging
The top surface of the clock radio features a built-in wireless charging pad, capable of delivering up to 5W of power to compatible devices.
- Ensure the clock radio is powered on.
- Place your Qi-compatible smartphone, smartwatch, or earbuds directly onto the wireless charging pad located on the top of the unit.
- Ensure the device is centered on the charging pad for optimal connection. A charging indicator may appear on your device's screen.
- Remove your device once fully charged.
Note: Charging speed may vary depending on the device and its alignment on the pad. Remove any thick cases that may interfere with charging.

3.2 Temperature Sensor
The clock radio includes a temperature sensor that displays the ambient room temperature.
- To view the temperature, press the TEMP button. The display will cycle between time and temperature.
- To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), press and hold the TEMP button until the unit changes.
The temperature range displayed is 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C).

3.3 Display and Dimmer Settings
The 1.4-inch red LED display provides clear visibility of the time and other information. You can adjust its brightness.
- Press the DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through the four brightness levels: Bright, Moderate, Dim, and Faint.
- Select the level that best suits your environment and preference.

3.4 Setting and Using Alarms
The unit features dual alarms, allowing you to set two separate wake-up times.
- Setting Alarm 1 or Alarm 2:
- Press and hold the AL.1 or AL.2 button until the alarm time flashes.
- Use the TUNE+ or TUNE- buttons to adjust the desired alarm hour (observe AM/PM indicator).
- Press AL.1 or AL.2 again to confirm the hour, then adjust minutes using TUNE+ or TUNE-.
- Press AL.1 or AL.2 once more to select the alarm source: Buzzer or FM Radio.
- Press AL.1 or AL.2 a final time to save the alarm setting. The corresponding alarm indicator (1 or 2) will light up on the display.
- Activating/Deactivating Alarms:
- Briefly press the AL.1 or AL.2 button to toggle the alarm on or off. The alarm indicator will show its status.
- Snooze Function:
- When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period.
- Stopping Alarm:
- To stop the alarm completely, press the ON/OFF button. The alarm will reset for the next day.
The Crescendo Wakeup Control feature gradually increases the alarm volume to avoid sudden jarring.

3.5 FM Radio Operation
The unit features a digital PLL FM radio with 20 station memories.
- Turning On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button to turn the radio on or off.
- Tuning:
- Briefly press TUNE+ or TUNE- to manually tune to a specific frequency.
- Press and hold TUNE+ or TUNE- to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Volume Control: Use the VOL+ or VOL- buttons to adjust the listening volume.
- Saving Presets:
- Tune to the desired FM station.
- Press and hold the RADIO PRESET/STO button until "PXX" flashes on the display (XX is the preset number).
- Use TUNE+ or TUNE- to select the desired preset number (1-20).
- Press RADIO PRESET/STO again to save the station to the selected preset.
- Recalling Presets: Briefly press the RADIO PRESET/STO button to cycle through saved preset stations.
For optimal FM reception, ensure the wire antenna at the back of the unit is fully extended and positioned correctly.
3.6 Sleep-to-Music Timer
The sleep timer allows you to fall asleep to the radio, which will automatically turn off after a set period.
- While the radio is playing, press the DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
- The radio will play for the selected duration and then automatically turn off.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance and functionality of your clock radio:
- Unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
- Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
4.2 Battery Backup
The unit uses a button cell battery (CR2032, not included) to maintain time and alarm settings during power outages. This battery is typically pre-installed or should be installed upon first use if not. The battery life is several years.
- If the display shows incorrect time after a power interruption, the backup battery may need replacement.
- Refer to the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit for replacement instructions. Ensure correct polarity.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
5. Troubleshooting
