6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, turn the VOLUME knob clockwise. To power off, turn it counter-clockwise until it clicks.
6.2 Understanding the LCD Display
The 3.1-inch LCD display provides crucial information:
- Probable Metal Type: Indicated by an arrow.
- Target Depth: Shows how deep the detected object is.
- DISC/NOTCH Range: Displays the current discrimination settings.
- SENS Level: Current sensitivity setting.
- Battery Condition: Indicates remaining battery life.
- Numeric Display: Provides specific values for DISC and TARGET identification.

6.3 Detection Modes
- All-Metal Mode: Detects all types of metal without discrimination.
- Discrimination Mode (DISC): Allows you to ignore certain types of metal (e.g., iron) and focus on more valuable targets. Use the DISC button to adjust the discrimination range (0-80).
- Notch Mode (NOTCH): Similar to discrimination, but allows you to selectively ignore specific categories of junk metal while still detecting others.
6.4 Key Functions
- Sensitivity Adjustment (SENS): Fine-tune the detector's sensitivity to improve detection depth and reduce false signals. Adjust based on ground conditions and target size.
- Volume Control (VOLUME): Adjusts the audio output level.
- Pinpoint Function (PINPOINT): After detecting a target, use this function to precisely locate its position, making excavation easier.
- 3-Tone Audio Discrimination: The detector emits three distinct tones (high, medium, low) to indicate different types of metal, aiding in target identification.
6.5 Using the Search Coil
When sweeping the search coil, keep it parallel to the ground and move it slowly from side to side. The 9.6-inch (245mm) waterproof search coil allows for operation in shallow water, providing stable performance.

6.6 Headphone Use
The detector includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connecting headphones (not included) allows you to hear subtle changes in sound more clearly, which can be crucial for identifying targets. It also helps to prevent disturbing others.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the detector with a damp cloth after each use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the control unit is dry before storage.
- Storage: Store the detector in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Care: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh.
- Erratic Signals/False Alarms: Reduce sensitivity. Ensure the search coil is not touching the ground or dense vegetation. Move away from strong electromagnetic interference sources (e.g., power lines, other electronic devices).
- Poor Detection Depth: Increase sensitivity. Ensure the search coil is parallel to the ground. Check battery level.
- No Audio: Check volume setting. If using headphones, ensure they are properly plugged in and functional.
