This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your amplifier. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting installation or operation to ensure optimal performance and safety.

2. Safety Precautions

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the amplifier or vehicle:

  • Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before beginning any installation.
  • Ensure all wiring is properly routed and secured to prevent pinching or damage.
  • Use appropriate gauge wiring as specified in this manual to handle the amplifier's power requirements.
  • Do not mount the amplifier in areas exposed to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, or dust.
  • Never operate the amplifier if it is damaged or malfunctioning. Refer to the troubleshooting section or contact support.
  • Avoid listening to audio at extremely high volumes for extended periods, as this can cause hearing damage.

5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your amplifier. If you are unsure about any step, consult a professional installer.

5.1 Mounting Location

Choose a mounting location that is dry, well-ventilated, and away from direct heat sources. Ensure sufficient space around the amplifier for air circulation. Common locations include under a seat, in the trunk, or behind a rear seat.

5.2 Wiring Connections

Before making any connections, disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle's battery.

  • Power (B+) Connection: Run a 0-gauge power cable directly from the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery to the amplifier's B+ terminal. Install an appropriate fuse holder (not included) within 18 inches of the battery.
  • Ground (GND) Connection: Connect a 0-gauge ground cable from the amplifier's GND terminal to a clean, unpainted metal surface on the vehicle's chassis. Ensure a solid, low-resistance connection.
  • Remote (REM) Connection: Connect a remote turn-on wire from your head unit's remote output to the amplifier's REM terminal. This wire signals the amplifier to turn on when the head unit is active.
  • RCA Input Connection: Connect RCA cables from your head unit's pre-amp outputs to the amplifier's RCA input jacks.
  • Speaker Output Connection: Connect your subwoofer(s) to the amplifier's speaker output terminals. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). This amplifier is designed for 1-ohm stable operation.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, adjust the amplifier settings for optimal sound performance.

6.1 Gain Control

The gain control matches the amplifier's input sensitivity to the output voltage of your head unit. Start with the gain set to minimum and slowly increase it until you hear distortion, then back off slightly. Do not use the gain control as a volume knob.

6.2 Low Pass Filter (LPF)

The LPF allows only frequencies below the set point to pass through to the subwoofer. Adjust the LPF (35Hz – 250Hz) to blend smoothly with your other speakers.

6.3 Subsonic Filter

The subsonic filter removes extremely low frequencies (10Hz – 50Hz) that are inaudible but can cause damage to subwoofers. Set it slightly below your subwoofer's port tuning frequency or around 25-30Hz for sealed enclosures.

6.4 Bass Boost

The bass boost (0-9dB @ 45Hz) provides an adjustable boost at a specific frequency. Use sparingly to avoid distortion and potential speaker damage.

6.5 Strappable Connection

The NA-K6000D supports strappable connection, allowing two identical amplifiers to be linked for double the power output into a single load. Refer to a professional installer for this advanced configuration.

7. Maintenance

Your Nemesis Audio amplifier requires minimal maintenance:

  • Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Keep the amplifier clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the amplifier's cooling fins are free from dust and debris to maintain proper heat dissipation.

8. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your amplifier, consult the following table before contacting support:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Amplifier does not turn onNo power, ground, or remote signal; Blown fuseCheck all power, ground, and remote connections. Verify battery voltage. Check and replace fuses if necessary.
No sound outputRCA cables disconnected; Speaker wires disconnected; Gain too low; Head unit issueCheck RCA and speaker connections. Increase gain. Verify head unit is functioning correctly.
Distorted soundGain set too high; Improper filter settings; Speaker impedance mismatch; Damaged speakerReduce gain. Adjust LPF/Subsonic settings. Verify speaker impedance is within amplifier's limits. Inspect speakers for damage.
Amplifier overheatsInsufficient ventilation; Low impedance load; Excessive gain/bass boostEnsure proper airflow around amplifier. Verify speaker impedance. Reduce gain or bass boost.
