Setup Instructions
These track pieces are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Scalextric Sport Track layouts. Follow these steps to expand your circuit:
- Plan Your Layout: Determine where you wish to add the new curve sections to enhance your track design. The Radius 2 curves allow for tighter turns and more complex circuit configurations.
- Disconnect Existing Track: Carefully disconnect two straight or curved sections from your current layout where you intend to insert the new pieces. Scalextric Sport Track pieces are recognizable by two push-tabs underneath; gently press these tabs to release the interlocking sections.
- Connect New Curves: Align the new Radius 2 Racing Curve sections with the open ends of your existing track. Ensure the electrical contacts are properly aligned. Press the track pieces firmly together until they click into place. The interlocking mechanism should create a solid connection.
- Test Connections: After assembly, gently run your hand along the track joins to ensure they are flush and secure. A smooth connection is crucial for consistent power delivery and car performance.

Track Compatibility
The Scalextric Racing Curves Extension Pack C8193 is compatible with the following Scalextric track systems:
- Scalextric Sport Track: This is the standard track type for over 10 years and is fully compatible.
- Scalextric Digital Track Layouts: The extension pack is compatible with Digital Scalextric circuits.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Scalextric track:
- Track Cleaning: Light cleaning of the track surface is recommended for daily use. Use a damp cloth or a very lightly oiled cloth to remove light grime and dust from the track surface. Always wipe the surface dry after using a damp cloth. This practice helps ensure optimal grip for car tires.
- Contact Points: Periodically inspect the metal contact rails for any dirt, corrosion, or damage. Clean with a soft, dry cloth or a specialized track cleaner if necessary.
- Storage: When not in use, store track pieces in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent warping or damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Scalextric track, consider the following common solutions:
- Car Not Moving/Intermittent Power:
- Check all track connections to ensure they are secure and flush.
- Clean the track rails as described in the Maintenance section.
- Ensure the power supply is correctly connected and functioning.
- Inspect the car's braids and motor for any issues.
- Cars Derailing Frequently:
- Verify that all track sections are laid flat and securely joined, without any bumps or gaps.
- Ensure cars are properly seated in the track slot.
- Check car speed; excessive speed on curves can cause derailing.
