This manual provides detailed instructions for the 8Bitdo Retro Arcade Fight Stick. It covers setup, operation, features, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your device. The arcade stick is designed for use with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC systems, offering versatile connectivity options.

2. Features
- 8BitDo Ultimate Software: Customize button mapping and create macros with any button combination. Includes two dedicated macro buttons (P1/P2). Create and switch between controller profiles.
- Dynamic Button Layout: The arcade stick's visual button layout changes instantly when switching between Switch and PC (X-Input) modes.

3. Setup
3.1 Powering On and Off
To power on the arcade stick, press the Home button. To power off, hold the Home button for 5 seconds.
3.2 Connecting to Devices
The 8Bitdo Retro Arcade Fight Stick offers three connection methods: Bluetooth, 2.4G Wireless, and Wired USB-C.
3.2.1 Bluetooth Connection
- Set the mode switch on the arcade stick to 'S' for Switch or 'X' for PC.
- Set the connection switch to 'BT' (Bluetooth).
- Press the Pair button (green button with Wi-Fi symbol) for 3 seconds until the indicator lights begin to cycle.
- On your device (Switch or PC), navigate to Bluetooth settings and select '8Bitdo Arcade Stick' to pair.

3.2.2 2.4G Wireless Connection
- Locate the 2.4G wireless receiver in the hidden compartment on the back of the arcade stick.
- Plug the 2.4G receiver into an available USB port on your Switch dock or PC.
- Set the mode switch on the arcade stick to 'S' for Switch or 'X' for PC.
- Set the connection switch to '2.4G'.
- The arcade stick should automatically connect to the receiver.

3.2.3 Wired USB-C Connection
- Connect the USB-C cable to the port on the arcade stick.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to an available USB port on your Switch dock or PC.
- The arcade stick will automatically switch to wired mode.

3.3 Charging the Arcade Stick
Connect the USB-C cable to the arcade stick and a power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, PC USB port). The indicator lights will show charging status and turn off when fully charged.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Layout

- Joystick: 8-way directional control.
- Action Buttons: Eight primary action buttons (red).
- Macro Buttons (P1, P2): Two dedicated buttons for custom macros.
- Mode Switch (S/OFF/X): Selects between Switch mode ('S') and PC X-Input mode ('X'). 'OFF' powers down the device.
- Control Stick Switch (LS/DP/RS): Toggles the joystick function between Left Stick, D-Pad, and Right Stick.
- Home/Turbo Button: Powers on/off the device and activates/deactivates Turbo function.
- Star Button: Often used for special functions or as a customizable button.
- Select/Start Buttons: Standard game control buttons.

4.2 Using Macro Buttons (P1/P2)
The P1 and P2 buttons can be programmed using the 8Bitdo Ultimate Software to execute complex button sequences or single button presses. Refer to the software's instructions for detailed programming steps.
4.3 Turbo Functionality
To activate Turbo for a specific button, hold the desired button and press the Home/Turbo button simultaneously. To deactivate, repeat the process.
4.4 Dynamic Button Layout
When switching between Switch and PC (X-Input) modes using the mode switch, the button labels on the arcade stick will dynamically change to reflect the current mapping for the selected platform.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the arcade stick. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
5.2 Moddability
The 8Bitdo Retro Arcade Fight Stick is designed for easy modification. Users can swap out 30mm/24mm arcade buttons and utilize the universal joystick mounting plate to install various arcade sticks, such as Sanwa JLF models. Exercise caution and consult relevant guides if performing modifications.

5.3 Firmware Updates

6. Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting: Ensure the mode switch is set correctly (S for Switch, X for PC) and the connection switch is set to the desired method (BT or 2.4G). For 2.4G, ensure the receiver is properly inserted. For Bluetooth, ensure the device is in pairing mode and discoverable.
- Buttons or joystick unresponsive: Check for a low battery. Try connecting via USB-C cable to rule out wireless interference. If modded, ensure all connections are secure.
- Input lag: For optimal performance, especially in competitive gaming, a wired USB-C connection is recommended. Ensure your device's drivers are up to date.
- Firmware update issues: Follow the official 8Bitdo firmware update guide precisely. Ensure the device is fully charged and connected directly via USB-C during the update process.
