1. Introduction

The VJOYCAR G20 GPS Digital Speedometer HUD is designed to display real-time driving speed directly from GPS satellites. This head-up display offers a clear, large-font readout, making it easy to monitor your speed without diverting your attention from the road. It is universally compatible with all vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, ATVs, pick-up trucks, scooters, golf carts, buses, trains, bikes, and motorcycles, as it operates independently of the vehicle's engine or OBD port.

The device features a 10 Hz high refresh rate VJOYCAR chipset, ensuring rapid and accurate speed updates. Its simple plug-and-play design requires no complex settings or button interactions, making installation and use straightforward. The G20 automatically powers on when the vehicle's ACC is detected as on, and powers off when the ACC is off, ensuring no power consumption when not in use.

3. Setup and Installation

The VJOYCAR G20 is designed for simple plug-and-play installation, requiring no complex wiring or configuration. Follow these steps to set up your device:

1. Choose a Location: Place the HUD unit on your dashboard in a position that allows for clear visibility without obstructing your view of the road. The included non-slip mat can be used to secure the device.
2. Connect Power: Connect the provided USB cable to the Mini USB port on the HUD unit. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port in your vehicle. If your vehicle does not have a USB port, you will need a car adapter (not included) to provide power.
3. Initial GPS Signal Acquisition: Upon first use, the device will take approximately 10-30 seconds to acquire a GPS signal. Ensure the vehicle is outdoors and not in an underground parking lot or tunnel for proper signal reception. Once connected, the display will show "0" or the current speed.

4. Operating Instructions

The VJOYCAR G20 operates automatically once connected to power and a GPS signal is acquired. There are no buttons or manual settings required for basic operation.

• Automatic Power On/Off: The device will automatically turn on and display the driving speed when it detects that the car's ACC (Accessory) power is on. When the car's ACC is turned off, the device will automatically power down, ensuring no battery drain.
• Speed Display: The large, green digital display shows your current speed in MPH (Miles Per Hour). The speed data is collected directly from GPS satellites, providing an accurate reading independent of your vehicle's internal systems.
• Universal Compatibility: Due to its GPS-based operation, the G20 is compatible with virtually all types of vehicles, as it does not interfere with the car's engine or circuit board.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the display and the device's exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface or internal components.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Handling: Handle the device with care to prevent drops or impacts, which could damage the internal electronics or the display.

6. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Powering On:
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the HUD unit and the vehicle's USB port or car adapter.

  • If using a car adapter, ensure it is functioning correctly and providing 5V power.
• No GPS Signal / Display Shows "0" for Extended Period:
  • For first-time usage or after a long period of inactivity, it may take 10-30 seconds for the device to acquire a GPS signal.
  • Ensure the vehicle is outdoors with a clear view of the sky. The device cannot acquire a GPS signal indoors, in underground parking lots, or in tunnels.
  • Relocate the device on the dashboard to a position with less obstruction from the vehicle's roof or other components.
• Speed Reading Differs from Car Dashboard:
  • The GPS speedometer collects data directly from satellites, while car dashboards typically measure speed from tire rotation. A difference of 1%-5% is normal and expected. The GPS reading is generally considered more accurate.
• Display Brightness Issues (Day/Night):
  • The device is designed for clear visibility day and night. Ensure the display is not obstructed by direct sunlight or reflections. Adjusting the placement on the dashboard might help.
