This manual provides instructions for the Citizen Eco-Drive Chronograph Watch, model CA4477-08X. 2. Setup
2.1 Initial Charging
Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, ensure it is fully charged by exposing the dial to bright light (natural or artificial) for several hours. Avoid placing the watch in direct sunlight for extended periods in hot environments to prevent overheating.
2.2 Setting the Time and Date
To set the time and date:
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (the second click). The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set for the 12/24 hour display.
- Push the crown back in to position 1 (the first click).
- Pull the crown out to position 1 (the first click).
- Rotate the crown to set the date.
- Push the crown back in to position 0 (normal position).

2.3 Chronograph Zero Reset
If the chronograph hands are not aligned to the zero position, perform a zero reset:
- Pull the crown out to position 2.
- Press Button A (top pusher) to adjust the 1/5 second chronograph hand.
- Press Button B (bottom pusher) to adjust the minute chronograph hand.
- Once all chronograph hands are aligned to zero, push the crown back in to position 0.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Timekeeping
The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds. The 12/24 hour sub-dial indicates the current time in a 24-hour format, useful for distinguishing AM/PM.
3.2 Chronograph Function
The chronograph measures elapsed time up to 60 minutes in 1/5 second increments.
- To start the chronograph, press Button A.
- To stop the chronograph, press Button A again.
- To reset the chronograph to zero, press Button B while the chronograph is stopped.
- To measure split time, press Button B while the chronograph is running. Press Button B again to release the split time and display the ongoing elapsed time.
3.3 Date Display
The date is displayed in a window on the dial. Adjust the date manually at the end of months with fewer than 31 days.
3.4 Eco-Drive Technology
The Eco-Drive movement converts any light source into electrical energy, which is stored in a power cell. This ensures continuous operation without the need for battery replacement.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water and harsh chemicals. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then dry thoroughly.
4.2 Water Resistance (100M)
This watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). It is suitable for swimming and snorkeling but not for diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
4.3 Power Reserve
When fully charged, the watch has a significant power reserve, allowing it to operate in darkness for an extended period. If the watch stops, expose it to light to recharge.

5. Troubleshooting
