2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
Before first use, carefully unpack all components of your Waterdrop Electric Water Filter Pitcher and the new filter. Wash the pitcher's reservoir and lid with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not wash the filter with detergent.
2.2 Filter Preparation
It is recommended to flush the new filter with water for a few minutes before installation to remove any carbon dust. This ensures optimal performance and taste from the first use.
2.3 Filter Installation Steps
- Pull out the water pumping unit from the pitcher and place a water container below it.
- Push the old filter inwards and pull it out by pinching the buckles on both sides.
- Align the buckles of the new filter to the notches of the water pumping unit and insert the new filter firmly.
- When a slight "click" sound is heard, the filter has been installed correctly.
- Tap the "Drop" button once to activate the pitcher. Press and hold the "Drop" button for 3 seconds. When the button turns blue, the filter is successfully replaced and the filter life indicator is reset.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Filter Replacement Schedule
For optimal purity and taste, it is recommended to replace the Waterdrop WD-EDF filter after filtering 200 gallons of water or every 3 months, whichever comes first. The pitcher's indicator light will typically signal when a replacement is due.

4.2 Cleaning the Pitcher
Regularly clean the pitcher's reservoir, lid, and other non-filter components with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry or wipe with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the pitcher's surface.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Slow Water Flow
- Check Filter Life: A slow flow rate often indicates that the filter is nearing the end of its life and needs replacement.
- Reinstall Filter: Ensure the filter is correctly seated and clicked into place. A loose filter can affect flow.
- Water Temperature: Ensure the water temperature is within the recommended range (33-1010F / 1-380C).
5.2 Unusual Taste or Odor
- New Filter Flushing: For new filters, ensure it has been properly flushed before first use to remove any residual carbon dust.
- Filter Replacement: If the taste or odor persists, it may be time to replace the filter, even if the indicator has not yet signaled.
- Pitcher Cleaning: Ensure the pitcher itself is clean and free of any residue that might affect water taste.
