2. Programming Your Devices

The universal remote can be programmed using two primary methods: Direct Code Entry or Auto Code Search. Direct Code Entry is generally recommended for its simplicity and speed.

Method A: Direct Code Entry (Recommended)

This method involves entering a specific code for your device's brand directly into the remote.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program (e.g., TV, DVD player).
  2. Press and hold the corresponding device button on the universal remote (e.g., TV, DVD, CBL, AUX) until the indicator light on the remote stays lit.
  3. Enter the 3-digit code for your device's brand using the number buttons. Refer to the code list provided with your remote (not included in this manual).
  4. Once the code is entered, the indicator light should turn off. Test the remote by pressing the Power button. If the device turns off, the programming was successful.
  5. If the device does not respond, try the next code listed for your brand or proceed to Method B.

Method B: Auto Code Search

This method allows the remote to search through its internal code library to find a compatible code for your device.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program.
  2. Press and hold the corresponding device button on the universal remote (e.g., TV, DVD, CBL, AUX) until the indicator light on the remote stays lit.
  3. While holding the device button, press the Power button once. The indicator light will start flashing, indicating the remote is searching for a code.
  4. Point the remote at your device and wait for the device to turn off. This may take several minutes as the remote cycles through codes.
  5. Once the device turns off, immediately press the same device button (e.g., TV) to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
  6. Test the remote's functions (e.g., volume, channel, input). If all functions work, programming is complete. If not, repeat the auto code search process.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's indicator light becomes dim or the remote becomes unresponsive. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries.

  1. Open the battery compartment as described in the "Battery Installation" section.
  2. Remove the old batteries.
  3. Insert new AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment securely.
  5. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Cleaning

To clean the remote, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the remote in water.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your universal remote, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Remote is unresponsive or indicator light does not turn on:
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace the batteries with fresh ones.
  • Remote does not control your device:
    • Ensure you have selected the correct device button (TV, CBL, DVD, AUX) on the remote.
    • Re-attempt the programming process (Direct Code Entry or Auto Code Search) for the specific device.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the device's infrared sensor.
    • Confirm you are within the effective operating range (up to 15 meters / 50 feet).
  • Some buttons work, but others do not:
    • This may indicate that the programmed code is not fully compatible. Try another code for your device's brand using the Direct Code Entry method, or re-run the Auto Code Search.
  • Remote has a delay in response:
    • While the remote is designed for fast response, ensure fresh batteries are used.
    • Ensure direct line of sight to the device.

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please contact customer support for further assistance.
