Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter any issues with your CHEFREE AFW20 Dual Air Fryer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Air fryer does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue; drawer not fully inserted. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the cooking drawers are fully closed and clicked into place. |
| Food is not cooked evenly. | Overcrowding the basket; not shaking/flipping food. | Do not overcrowd the baskets. Cook in smaller batches if necessary. Shake or flip food halfway through cooking for even results. |
| White smoke coming from the appliance. | Grease residue from previous use; high-fat food. | Clean the baskets and crisper trays thoroughly after each use. For high-fat foods, consider draining excess fat during cooking or adding a small amount of water to the bottom of the drawer to prevent smoke. |
| Food is not crispy. | Too much moisture; not enough oil (for certain foods). | Pat food dry before air frying. For some foods, a light spray of oil can help achieve crispiness. Ensure crisper tray is in place. |
| Appliance emits a burning smell. | Food residue on heating element; new appliance smell. | Unplug and allow to cool. Clean the heating element. If it's a new appliance, the smell should dissipate after a few uses. Ensure proper ventilation. |
