  2. Loosen Screws: Use the provided hex wrench to loosen the screws that secure the base plate. These are typically located on the underside of the base plate.
  3. Adjust Angle: Tilt the base plate to the desired angle (0-45°). Most base plates have angle markings for guidance.
  4. Tighten Screws: Once the desired angle is set, securely tighten the base plate screws with the hex wrench.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off and Speed Adjustment

  1. Connect Power: Plug the jigsaw into a standard 110V power outlet.
  2. Start Operation: Press the Start button (trigger) to begin operation.
  3. Continuous Operation: For extended use, press the Safety button while the Start button is engaged to lock it in the 'on' position. Press the Start button again to release the lock.
  4. Stop Operation: Release the Start button to stop the tool.

6.2 Cutting Techniques

  • Preparation: Mark your cutting line clearly on the workpiece. Ensure the workpiece is stable and securely clamped.
  • Starting a Cut: Place the front edge of the base plate flat on the workpiece, ensuring the blade is not touching the material. Start the jigsaw and allow the blade to reach full speed.
  • Engaging Material: Gently guide the blade into the material along your marked line. Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool, as this can damage the blade or motor.
  • Following the Line: Maintain a firm grip on the tool and guide it smoothly along the cutting path. The integrated LED light will help illuminate the cutting area.
  • Finishing a Cut: Once the cut is complete, release the Start button and wait for the blade to stop completely before lifting the tool from the workpiece.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your jigsaw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tool and clean any dust or debris from the ventilation slots and the blade area. Use a dry cloth; do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Blade Replacement: Replace dull or damaged blades promptly. Refer to Section 5.1 for blade installation instructions.
  • Carbon Brush Replacement: Carbon brushes are wear items. If the tool experiences reduced power or intermittent operation, the carbon brushes may need replacement. Unplug the tool, locate the carbon brush covers (usually on the sides of the motor housing), remove them, and replace the worn brushes with new ones. Secure the covers.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. Do not use the tool if the cord is damaged.
  • Storage: Store the jigsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children and away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
