3. Setup

Before First Use:

  • Remove any stickers or protective film from the soleplate.
  • Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth to remove any manufacturing residues.
  • It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be produced during the first few minutes of use. This will dissipate quickly.

Filling the Water Tank:

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the mains.
  2. Set the steam control slider to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam).
  3. Hold the iron in a slightly tilted position.
  4. Open the filling inlet cover.
  5. Carefully fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not overfill.
  6. Close the filling inlet cover securely.

Note: For optimal performance and to prolong the life of your iron, it is recommended to use untreated tap water. If your water is very hard, you may use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water. Never use 100% distilled water, scented water, or water containing additives.

4. Operating Instructions

Temperature Setting:

  1. Check the care label on your garment to determine the correct ironing temperature.
  2. Turn the temperature control dial to the appropriate setting for your fabric type (e.g., synthetic, silk, wool, cotton, linen).
  3. Plug the iron into a suitable mains socket. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating that the iron has reached the selected temperature.

Dry Ironing:

  • Ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control slider is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position.
  • Set the temperature according to the fabric type.
  • Once the indicator light turns off, you can begin dry ironing.

Steam Ironing:

  • Fill the water tank as described in the 'Setup' section.
  • Set the temperature control dial to a setting suitable for steam ironing (usually cotton or linen, indicated by the steam symbol on the dial).
  • Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off.
  • Adjust the steam control slider to the desired steam output.
  • Begin ironing. The iron will produce continuous steam.
  • For stubborn creases, press the Steam Boost Button for an extra powerful burst of steam. Wait a few seconds between bursts.

Vertical Steaming:

  • This function is ideal for removing creases from hanging garments, curtains, or delicate fabrics.
  • Fill the water tank and set the temperature to maximum.
  • Hold the iron vertically, a few centimeters away from the fabric.
  • Press the Steam Boost Button repeatedly to release steam.

Spray Function:

  • The spray function can be used for both dry and steam ironing to dampen stubborn creases.
  • Ensure the water tank has sufficient water.
  • Press the Spray Button to emit a fine mist of water onto the fabric.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

After Each Use:

  1. Unplug the iron from the mains socket.
  2. Empty any remaining water from the tank by inverting the iron over a sink and opening the filling inlet.
  3. Allow the iron to cool down completely before storing.

Cleaning the Soleplate:

  • When the iron is cold, wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
  • Do not use abrasive scouring pads or metal objects, as these can damage the ceramic coating.

Anti-Drip Feature:

Your iron is equipped with an anti-drip system to prevent water from dripping onto your fabrics when ironing at low temperatures. If you hear a click, it is the anti-drip system operating.

Descaling (Self-Clean Function):

To maintain optimal steam performance and prevent limescale buildup, perform the self-clean function regularly, especially in hard water areas. Refer to the full instruction manual for detailed steps on activating the self-clean cycle.

Storage:

Once the iron has completely cooled, store it upright on its heel rest to protect the soleplate. Do not wrap the cord tightly around the iron; allow it to coil loosely.
