4. Setup

4.1 Power Supply

The VIOLA CD-1 can be powered by mains electricity or batteries.

Mains Power:

  • Connect the provided power cable to the AC power connection port on the unit.
  • Plug the other end of the power cable into a standard 230V wall socket.

Battery Power:

  • Open the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit.
  • Insert 6 x 1.5V R14/C batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  • Close the battery compartment securely.
  • The unit will automatically switch to battery power when disconnected from the mains.

4.2 Antenna Setup

For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located at the back of the unit.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power Button (⏻) to turn the unit on or off.

5.2 CD Playback

  1. Open the CD compartment lid.
  2. Place a CD (audio CD or MP3-CD) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the CD compartment lid securely.
  4. Press the Mode Button until "CD" appears on the display.
  5. The CD will start playing automatically. If not, press the Play/Pause (▶/⏸) button.
  6. Use the Skip/Search (⏮/⏭) buttons to navigate between tracks.
  7. For MP3-CDs, use the Album Button to switch between folders.
  8. Press the Rep/Prog Button to repeat a track or program a playback sequence.

5.3 FM Radio

  1. Press the Mode Button until "FM" appears on the display.
  2. Extend the telescopic antenna for better reception.
  3. Press the Scan Button to automatically search for and store available FM stations.
  4. Alternatively, use the Skip/Search (⏮/⏭) buttons to manually tune to a frequency.

5.4 Bluetooth Audio Streaming

  1. Press the Mode Button until "BT" or "Bluetooth" appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode.
  2. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "VIOLA CD-1" from the list of devices to pair.
  4. Once paired, you can stream audio from your device to the VIOLA CD-1.
  5. Use the controls on your connected device or the VIOLA CD-1 (Play/Pause, Skip) to manage playback.

5.5 AUX Input

  1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX in port using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  2. Press the Mode Button until "AUX" appears on the display.
  3. Play audio from your external device. The sound will be output through the VIOLA CD-1 speakers.
  4. Adjust volume using the VIOLA CD-1's volume controls or your external device.

5.6 Headphone Use

Plug 3.5mm headphones into the Headphone Output jack for private listening. The speakers will automatically mute.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc or a soft, lint-free cloth designed for optical lenses.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
