4.1 Cleaning Before First Use

Before using the breast pump for the first time, disassemble all parts that come into contact with breast milk and clean them according to the 'Maintenance and Cleaning' section.

4.2 Assembling the Pump Kit

  1. Insert the valve into the pump body from below.
  2. Place the silicone diaphragm onto the pump body, ensuring it is securely sealed around the edges.
  3. Attach the soft silicone cushion to the pump body, pressing firmly to ensure a tight seal.
  4. Screw the bottle onto the pump body.
  5. Connect the tubing to the pump body and the motor unit.

4.3 Charging the Motor Unit

Connect the power adapter to the motor unit and a power outlet. The battery indicator on the motor unit will show charging status. A full charge provides power for up to three pumping sessions. The motor unit uses a micro-USB adapter for charging.

5.1 Positioning for Comfort

Sit in a comfortable, upright position. The design of the Philips Avent breast pump allows you to express milk without needing to lean forward, promoting a relaxed posture.

5.2 Powering On and Selecting Modes

  1. Press the power button to turn on the motor unit.
  2. The pump will start in stimulation mode, which gently stimulates milk flow. There are 8 stimulation levels.
  3. Once milk starts flowing, press the mode selection button to switch to expression mode. There are 16 expression levels.
  4. Adjust the suction level using the '+' and '-' buttons to find your most comfortable and efficient setting.
  5. The digital timer display shows the duration of your pumping session.
  6. The pump automatically remembers your last settings for convenience.
