Setup
Unboxing and Included Items
Upon opening your Instax Mini 12 package, you will find the following items:
- Instax Mini 12 Camera Body

- Two (2) AA Batteries

Inserting Batteries
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the camera.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Loading Instax Mini Film
The Instax Mini 12 uses INSTAX MINI instant film, which is sold separately. Ensure you are using the correct film type for optimal results.
- Open the film compartment door on the back of the camera.
- Align the yellow mark on the film pack with the yellow mark on the camera's film compartment.
- Gently insert the film pack into the compartment. Do not press down on the film pack.
- Close the film compartment door firmly until it clicks. The film counter will display "S" (Start) or the remaining number of exposures.
- Press the shutter button once to eject the black film cover. The film counter will then show "10" (for a 10-exposure pack).

Operating the Camera
Powering On and Off
To turn the camera on, simply twist the lens barrel clockwise until it clicks into the "ON" position. To turn it off, twist the lens barrel counter-clockwise until it clicks into the "OFF" position.

Taking a Photo
Once the camera is powered on and film is loaded, simply frame your shot using the viewfinder and press the shutter button. The camera will automatically adjust exposure and flash settings for optimal results.
Selfie Mode and Close-Up Mode
For selfies or close-up shots (0.3m to 0.5m), twist the lens barrel further clockwise until it clicks into the "CLOSE-UP" position. This mode activates the built-in selfie mirror and applies parallax correction, ensuring that what you see in the viewfinder is accurately captured in your photo.

Automatic Exposure and Flash Control
The Instax Mini 12 features automatic exposure and flash control. This means the camera automatically detects the brightness of the environment and adjusts the flash and shutter speed accordingly, producing bright photos without being "washed-out".

Photo Ejection and Development
After pressing the shutter button, your INSTAX MINI instant photo will eject from the top of the camera in approximately five seconds. The development time thereafter is approximately 90 seconds. Avoid bending or shaking the photo during development.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Camera

- Blurred photos: Ensure the lens is clean and that you are holding the camera steady when taking a picture. For close-up shots, ensure you are in Close-up mode.
