Taking a Photo

Once the camera is powered on and film is loaded, simply frame your shot using the viewfinder and press the shutter button. The camera will automatically adjust exposure and flash settings for optimal results.

Selfie Mode and Close-Up Mode

For selfies or close-up shots (0.3m to 0.5m), twist the lens barrel further clockwise until it clicks into the "CLOSE-UP" position. This mode activates the built-in selfie mirror and applies parallax correction, ensuring that what you see in the viewfinder is accurately captured in your photo.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Camera

Film Storage

Store unused Instax Mini film packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and high temperatures. This helps preserve the film's quality and ensures consistent photo results.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Instax Mini 12, refer to the common problems and solutions below:

  • Camera not turning on: Ensure the AA batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Replace them if necessary.
  • Film not ejecting: Check if the film pack is correctly loaded and if there is any film remaining. The film counter should not show "S" after the black cover has been ejected.
  • Photos are too dark/light: The camera features automatic exposure. Ensure the flash is not obstructed and that you are shooting in appropriate lighting conditions.
  • Blurred photos: Ensure the lens is clean and that you are holding the camera steady when taking a picture. For close-up shots, ensure you are in Close-up mode.
