Key Features

Setup

Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the watch from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage or irregularities. Ensure all protective films are removed from the crystal and case back.

Setting Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the Crown: The crown is located on the right side of the watch case. Rotate it counter-clockwise until it is released from its secured position.
  2. Set the Date: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
  3. Set the Time: Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop (hacking feature). Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accuracy, synchronize with a reliable time source.
  4. Wind the Watch (Initial Setup): If the watch has stopped, gently rotate the crown clockwise while it is in the first position (or pushed in, depending on the movement) approximately 20-30 times to provide an initial power reserve.
  5. Secure the Crown: Once time and date are set, push the crown back in and screw it clockwise until it is firmly secured against the case. This ensures water resistance.

Adjusting the Strap

The watch comes with a quick-release Ecco™ DriTan™ leather strap. To adjust the fit, simply use the buckle to select the appropriate hole for your wrist size. For replacement or interchangeability, locate the small lever on the spring bar at the back of the strap to easily remove or attach new straps.

Operating Your Automatic Watch

Automatic Movement

This watch is powered by a 21-jewel automatic movement, which means it winds itself using the natural motion of your wrist. When worn regularly (approximately 8-12 hours a day), the watch will maintain its power reserve. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop. In this case, manually wind it as described in the "Setup" section before wearing.

Water Resistance

The Timex Expedition North Titanium Automatic watch is water resistant up to 200 meters (660 feet). This rating means it is suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.

Luminosity (Lume)

The hands and hour markers of the watch are treated with a luminous material that glows in low-light conditions after exposure to light. The intensity and duration of the glow depend on the exposure time and intensity of the light source.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or seals.

Strap Care

The Ecco™ DriTan™ leather strap is designed for durability. To maintain its appearance and longevity, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive moisture. If the strap gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.

Periodic Servicing

Like all mechanical watches, periodic servicing (typically every 3-5 years) by a qualified watchmaker is recommended to ensure optimal performance and water resistance. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and seal replacement.
