Setup
Setting the Time
- Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) to its outermost position.
- Adjust the time: Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the hour and minute hands indicate the correct time.
- Push in the crown: Once the time is set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch movement. Ensure it is fully seated to maintain water resistance.
Strap Adjustment
The watch features an 8-inch yellow strap. To adjust the fit, use the buckle to select the appropriate hole on the strap. Ensure the watch is snug but comfortable on your wrist.

Operating the Watch
Time Reading
The watch displays time using traditional hour, minute, and second hands on a black dial with clear markers. The hands are designed for visibility in various conditions.
Using the Rotating Bezel
The Timex Standard Diver watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel. This feature is primarily used for timing elapsed events, such as dive times or other activities.
- Align the bezel: Rotate the bezel so that the zero marker (or triangle) aligns with the minute hand at the start of the event you wish to time.
- Read elapsed time: As time passes, the minute hand will move. The number on the bezel that the minute hand points to indicates the elapsed time in minutes.
Note: The bezel is designed to rotate in one direction only (typically counter-clockwise) to prevent accidental shortening of elapsed time during critical activities like diving.
Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet). This makes it suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving.
- Avoid pressing buttons underwater.
- Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any water exposure.

Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and strap with a soft, damp cloth. For the rubber strap, mild soap and water can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Battery Replacement
The watch operates on a single battery (included). When the battery requires replacement, it is recommended to have this service performed by a professional watch center. This ensures the watch's water resistance is maintained and prevents potential damage to the internal components.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This helps preserve the battery life and material integrity.

Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If it is pulled out, the watch will not run.
- If the watch stops running, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the 'Battery Replacement' section.
Time Inaccuracy
- Check if the crown is fully pushed in. A partially pulled-out crown can affect timekeeping.
- Exposure to strong magnetic fields can affect quartz watch accuracy. Keep the watch away from strong magnets.
- If accuracy issues persist after checking the above, professional inspection may be required.
