4.5. Data Usage Considerations
Since the camera operates on a 4G LTE network, data usage is a key consideration. The Reolink App shows signal strength and 4G status but not remaining data on your plan. You can monitor data usage through your SIM card provider's portal (e.g., EIOTCLUB website).
- Resolution Settings: Adjust the live view resolution (Clear for best quality, Fluent for faster viewing and less data). Recorded clips are saved in both qualities.
- Playback/Download: Be mindful of data consumption when viewing or downloading clips, especially in higher resolutions.
5. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your REOLINK TrackMix LTE camera, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Clean Lenses: Periodically wipe the camera lenses and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris.
- Check Connections: Ensure all cables and connections are secure and free from damage.
- Firmware Updates: Keep the camera's firmware updated through the Reolink App to benefit from the latest features and security enhancements.
- Monitor Battery/Solar Performance: Regularly check the battery level and solar charging status via the app to ensure continuous power.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Issue | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Camera is slow or laggy | This can be due to weak 4G signal or high resolution settings. Check signal strength in the app. Adjust live view resolution to 'Fluent' for smoother streaming. Ensure sufficient data plan. |
| Connectivity issues | Verify SIM card is correctly inserted and activated. Check 4G signal strength. Ensure the SIM card is compatible with unlocked devices and has an active data plan. Some carriers (like T-Mobile) may require prepaid data-only cards. |
| Battery not charging | Ensure the solar panel is clean and receiving direct sunlight. Check the connection between the solar panel and the camera. Verify the USB-C cable is securely plugged in. |
| Motion detection not working | Ensure the PIR Motion Sensor is enabled in the app settings. Adjust sensitivity levels. Check detection zones to ensure they cover the desired areas. |
| Recording issues | Verify that 'Camera Recording' is enabled in settings. Check MicroSD card status (formatted, sufficient space). Ensure the card is not full; enable 'Overwrite Recordings' if desired. |
