1. General Safety Instructions

Always read and understand all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

Work Area Safety

  • Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical Safety

  • Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Personal Safety

  • Always wear eye protection. Use safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield.
  • Wear hearing protection when operating the tool for extended periods.
  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.
  • Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.

Power Tool Use and Care

  • Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application.
  • Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
  • Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use.

Battery Tool Use and Care

  • Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation and Removal

To install the battery, align the battery pack with the slot in the tool handle and slide it in until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely latched. To remove, press the battery release button (usually located on the battery pack) and slide the battery out of the tool.

3.2 SDS-Plus Drill Bit Installation and Removal

  1. Installation: Clean the shank of the drill bit. Pull back the chuck sleeve, insert the SDS-Plus drill bit into the chuck until it stops, then release the sleeve. Pull the bit to ensure it is locked. The SDS-Plus system allows for slight axial movement of the bit, which is normal for hammer drilling.
  2. Removal: Pull back the chuck sleeve and hold it. The drill bit will release and can be pulled out.

3.3 Auxiliary Handle Adjustment

The auxiliary handle can be rotated 360 degrees for optimal grip and control. Loosen the handle by twisting it counter-clockwise, adjust it to the desired position, and then tighten it by twisting clockwise until secure.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Selecting Operating Mode

The tool features a rotary switch to select one of four operating modes:

  • Drill Mode (Rotation Only): For drilling in wood, metal, plastic, or ceramic without impact.
  • Hammer Drill Mode (Rotation with Impact): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone.
  • Chisel Mode (Impact Only): For light chiseling, chipping, or demolition work in concrete or masonry. The bit rotates freely in this mode.
  • Chisel Angle Adjustment Mode: Allows you to adjust the angle of the chisel without rotation or impact. This mode is for positioning the chisel only, not for operation.

To change the mode, rotate the mode selector switch to the desired icon. Ensure the switch clicks into place for the selected mode.
