Operating the Playard

2-in-1 Functionality: Bassinet and Playard

The playard offers two primary modes of use:

  • Baby Bassinet (Upper Layer): Ideal for newborns and infants, providing a raised sleeping surface for easy access and supervision. Use this layer until your baby can push up on hands and knees or reaches 19.8 lbs (9 kg).
  • Baby Playard (Lower Layer): Provides a secure and spacious area for older infants and toddlers to play. Ensure the bassinet layer is removed when your child can crawl or stand.

Side Door Design

The playard features a convenient side door with a smooth zipper, allowing older children to crawl in and out independently. Always ensure the zipper is closed when the child is unsupervised. This feature promotes independence and curiosity while maintaining safety.

Height Adjustment for Bedside Use

The playard can be adjusted to match the height of an adult bed, allowing it to function as a bedside crib. Only the side rail can be adjusted for height. Use the included straps to secure the playard to the adult bed for stability.

Mobility and Portability

Equipped with wheels, the playard can be easily moved between rooms. The wheels feature brakes to ensure stability when stationary. For travel or storage, the playard folds compactly.

  2. Step 2: Pull up the center hub of the playard base.
  3. Step 3: Locate the release buttons or levers on the underside of each side rail. Press these and gently push the rails downwards to unlock them.
  4. Step 4: Gather the four corners of the playard towards the center, allowing it to collapse into a compact form.

Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance will extend the life of your playard.

  • Cleaning Fabric: Use a damp cloth and mild soap to wipe down fabric surfaces. Do not use bleach or harsh abrasives. Allow to air dry completely before folding or storing.
  • Cleaning Frame: Wipe the metal and plastic parts of the frame with a damp cloth.
  • Mattress Pad: The mattress pad can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all parts for wear, tear, or damage. Ensure all fasteners, straps, and locking mechanisms are secure and functioning correctly.
  • Storage: Store the playard in a clean, dry place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your playard, refer to these common solutions:

  • Side Rails Not Locking: Ensure the center hub of the playard base is NOT pushed down before attempting to lock the side rails. Pull each rail up firmly until it clicks into place. If a rail still doesn't lock, try wiggling it slightly while pulling up.
  • Playard Base Not Lying Flat: Make sure all four side rails are fully locked before pushing down the center hub. If any rail is not locked, the base will not flatten properly.
  • Difficulty Folding: Ensure the center hub is pulled up first. Then, firmly press the release buttons on each side rail one by one while gently pushing the rail downwards. Do not force the folding mechanism.
  • Wobbly Playard: Check that all side rails are securely locked and the center hub is fully pushed down. Ensure the wheels are locked if the playard is meant to be stationary.
