Setup
The Betta SE is designed for ease of use, requiring minimal setup. Ensure the unit is placed in the pool with sufficient water depth.
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the Betta SE from its packaging.
- Initial Placement: Place the Betta SE directly onto the surface of your pool water. The unit will begin to charge its internal battery using its solar panel when exposed to sunlight.
- Water Depth Requirement: Ensure your pool has a minimum water depth of 5 inches for optimal operation. The Betta SE is not suitable for infinity pools.
- Power On: Locate the power switch on the unit and turn it to the 'ON' position. The skimmer will automatically begin its cleaning cycle.

Operating Instructions
The Betta SE operates autonomously, continuously cleaning the pool surface. Its intelligent design allows it to navigate and collect debris effectively.
- Continuous Cleaning: The skimmer will operate continuously, day and night, for up to 30 hours on a full charge. It recharges itself when exposed to direct sunlight.
- Smart Navigation: Equipped with ultrasonic radar sensors and four water-depth bumper rods, the Betta SE detects and avoids obstacles, ensuring comprehensive cleaning without getting stuck.
- Remote Control: Use the provided remote control for manual steering or to direct the skimmer to specific areas for targeted cleaning.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Betta SE.
- Emptying the Debris Basket: The large fine-mesh (200 um) debris basket should be emptied regularly, depending on the amount of debris in your pool. Simply dock the unit, open the cover, and lift out the basket using its top handle. Empty the collected debris and rinse the basket with water.
- Cleaning the Unit: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the Betta SE with a soft, damp cloth to remove any residue. The UV-resistant coating helps protect the unit from sun damage.
- Propeller Inspection: Occasionally check the twin Salt Chlorine Tolerant (SCT) motors and propellers for any tangled debris or obstructions. Clear any blockages to ensure smooth operation.

Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter with your Betta SE:
- Short Run Time in Fall/Winter: During fall and winter months, reduced run time is typically due to insufficient direct sunlight on the solar panel. To resolve this, remove the Betta SE from the pool and position the solar panel directly toward the sun. Keep the switch in the ON position to allow for optimal charging.
- Getting Stuck at the Skimmer: If the Betta SE frequently gets stuck near your pool's built-in skimmer, try reducing or turning off the pool skimmer suction.
