1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for replacing the touch screen digitizer on the DUODUOGO Tab-S1 tablet. This product is a replacement touch screen digitizer glass panel lens and does not include the LCD display. Professional installation is highly recommended due to the delicate nature of the components involved.

Before proceeding with any repair, please ensure you have the correct version of the digitizer (A or B) for your tablet. Refer to the images in the "Product Identification" section to verify your tablet's screen type.

2. Important Safety Information

• Static Electricity: Before attempting any repair, ground yourself using an ESD (electrostatic discharge) strap. This prevents static electricity from damaging the tablet's electronic components.
• Eye Protection: Always wear eye protection to prevent injury from glass splinters.
• Fragile Product: Screen replacements are very fragile. Handle with extreme care.
• Cable Bending: Do not over-bend the flexible flat cable (FFC) of the digitizer. Bending it beyond 90 degrees can cause permanent damage, leading to a non-functional or black display.
• Professional Installation: Due to the complexity and fragility, professional installation is strongly suggested. Damage during installation is not covered under warranty.

4. Product Identification: A vs. B Version

The DUODUOGO Tab-S1 tablet may have different versions of the touch screen digitizer. It is crucial to identify whether your tablet requires the 'A Version' or 'B Version' digitizer before installation. This product is specifically the 'B Version'.

Carefully examine the corner design of your existing tablet screen and compare it to the images above to ensure compatibility. The model number can often be found on the back of your tablet.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Pre-Installation Testing

Crucial Step: Before fully installing the new digitizer, it is imperative to perform a test. Do not remove any protective film or tags from the new digitizer during this test phase.

1. Disassemble Tablet: Carefully disassemble your DUODUOGO Tab-S1 tablet to access the motherboard and screen connectors.
2. Connect New Digitizer: Connect the flexible flat cable of the new digitizer to the corresponding connector on the tablet's motherboard. Ensure a secure but gentle connection.
3. Power On: Power on the tablet.
4. Test Functionality: Test the touch functionality across the entire screen. Ensure there are no dead spots, ghost touches, or unresponsive areas. Verify that the display (if connected) shows correctly.
5. If OK: If the test is successful, proceed with the full installation.
6. If Not OK: If the screen does not function correctly or shows issues, power off the tablet immediately. Disconnect the digitizer and contact customer service. Do not force installation if the test fails.

Note: We will not be responsible for issues once the screen is fully installed if pre-installation testing was not performed or if the screen was installed despite failing the test.

1. Power Off: Ensure the tablet is completely powered off and disconnected from any power source.
2. Remove Old Screen: Carefully heat the edges of the old screen to loosen the adhesive. Use the suction cup and opening tools to gently pry off the damaged digitizer. Be cautious of glass splinters.
3. Clean Frame: Thoroughly clean any old adhesive residue from the tablet frame. Ensure the surface is smooth and free of debris.
4. Apply New Adhesive: Apply the provided adhesive tape (or a suitable alternative) around the perimeter of the tablet frame where the new digitizer will sit.
5. Connect New Digitizer: Carefully connect the flexible flat cable of the new digitizer to the motherboard connector. Ensure it is seated correctly and not bent excessively.
6. Position New Digitizer: Align the new digitizer precisely with the tablet frame. Gently press it into place, ensuring even pressure around the edges to secure the adhesive.
7. Reassemble Tablet: Reassemble the remaining components of the tablet.
8. Final Test: Power on the tablet and perform a final test of the touch screen functionality.
