4. Assembly Instructions

The Arebos shelving unit features a simple plug-in system that requires no tools for assembly. Follow these steps for quick and stable setup.

Standard Tall Unit Assembly:

  1. Prepare the Area: Clear a spacious, flat, and stable area for assembly.
  2. Attach Plastic Feet: Place the plastic feet onto the bottom ends of the vertical uprights. These protect your floor.
  3. Assemble Base Frame: Connect four vertical uprights using the horizontal beams to form the base frame. Ensure the tabs on the beams align with the slots on the uprights and are securely tapped into place.
  4. Install Lower Shelves: Insert the MDF boards into the frame created by the horizontal beams.
  5. Build Upwards: Continue adding vertical uprights and horizontal beams to create the next level. Repeat this process for all five shelves, adjusting the height of the horizontal beams as desired.
  6. Secure Top Frame: Complete the top section by connecting the remaining horizontal beams to the top of the vertical uprights.
  7. Final Check: Ensure all connections are tight and the unit is stable before placing any items on it.

Workbench Configuration (Two Shorter Units):

The unit can also be split into two shorter, workbench-height units. To do this, follow the standard assembly steps, but divide the vertical uprights and horizontal beams to create two separate frames. Each shorter unit will typically have 2-3 shelves depending on your desired height.

  • Maximum Load: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 175 kg per shelf.
  • Stability: Place heavier items on lower shelves to improve overall stability.
  • Environment: While suitable for various rooms, avoid excessively damp or corrosive environments to prevent material degradation.
  • Accessibility: Ensure the shelving unit does not block emergency exits or pathways.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the metal frame and MDF shelves with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all connections to ensure they remain secure. Re-tap any loose beams if necessary.
  • Damage: If any part of the unit becomes bent or damaged, replace the affected component immediately to maintain structural integrity.
  • Moisture: While the metal is galvanized, prolonged exposure to moisture can lead to rust. Ensure the unit is used in a dry environment.
