Holosun SCS-320-GR Reflex Sight User Manual

Model: SCS-320-GR | Brand: HOLOSUN

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your Holosun SCS-320-GR Multi-Reticle Reflex Sight. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure safe and effective operation. Retain this manual for future reference.

The Holosun SCS-320-GR is a solar-charging reflex sight designed for P320 optics-ready handguns and other DPP footprint applications. It features a multi-reticle system and advanced power management for extended operational life.

2. Product Overview and Features

The SCS-320-GR incorporates several advanced technologies to enhance performance and reliability:

  • Solar Charging Sight (SCS): Designed for direct attachment to P320 optics-ready slides without an adapter plate. Utilizes a solar charging system with multi-directional light sensors for automatic brightness adjustment.
  • High Performance Power System: Features an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour power reserve. Includes an intensity override function for high brightness mode (30 minutes) and a low power indicator.
  • Multi-Reticle System (MRS): Allows selection between a 32 MOA circle with a 2 MOA dot, a 2 MOA dot only, or a 32 MOA circle only. The large circle aids in quick target acquisition and provides a hold-over reference.
  • Multilayer Reflective Glass: Optical-quality glass lenses with multilayer coatings ensure maximum light transmission, wear resistance, reduced glare, and efficient power usage.

3. Safety Information

  • Always follow firearm safety rules. Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe before handling or installing the sight.
  • Do not look directly into the sun through the sight, as this may cause eye damage.
  • Keep the sight away from extreme temperatures and corrosive materials.
  • Handle with care to prevent damage to optical components.

4. Setup and Installation

The SCS-320-GR is designed for direct mounting on Sig P320 optics-ready slides or other platforms utilizing the DPP footprint. No adapter plate is required.

  1. Prepare Firearm: Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe. Remove the slide from the frame if necessary, and remove any existing cover plate from the optics cut.
  2. Position Sight: Carefully place the SCS-320-GR onto the optics cut on the slide, ensuring proper alignment with the mounting holes.
  3. Secure Sight: Use the provided screws (if applicable, or screws specified by the firearm manufacturer) to secure the sight to the slide. Apply appropriate torque settings as recommended by the firearm or sight manufacturer to prevent damage or loosening.
  4. Verify Installation: Ensure the sight is firmly attached and does not wobble.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Brightness

The SCS-320-GR features an automatic brightness adjustment system powered by its solar panel. The sight is designed to be always on and will adjust reticle intensity based on ambient light conditions.

  • Automatic Mode: The sight automatically powers on and adjusts reticle brightness using the solar panel and light sensors.
  • Intensity Override: To temporarily lock the optic into a high brightness mode, refer to the specific button press sequence in the full manufacturer's guide. This mode typically lasts for 30 minutes.
  • Low Power Indicator: A low power indicator will warn of low internal battery charge days before it requires charging. Ensure the sight is exposed to light to recharge the internal battery.

5.2 Reticle Selection (Multi-Reticle System - MRS)

The MRS allows you to choose your preferred reticle:

  • 32 MOA Circle with 2 MOA Dot: Default setting for fast acquisition.
  • 2 MOA Dot Only: For precise aiming.
  • 32 MOA Circle Only: For broad target acquisition.

To cycle through reticle options, refer to the specific button press sequence in the full manufacturer's guide.

5.3 Zeroing the Sight

Zeroing the sight is crucial for accuracy. This process involves adjusting the reticle to match the point of impact of your firearm.

  1. Preparation: Secure your firearm in a stable rest. Use appropriate targets at a known distance (e.g., 10-25 yards for pistols).
  2. Adjust Windage and Elevation: The sight features windage and elevation adjustment turrets. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 1.5 MOA.
    • Elevation Adjustment: Typically located on the top of the sight. Turning clockwise moves the point of impact down; counter-clockwise moves it up.
    • Windage Adjustment: Typically located on the side of the sight. Turning clockwise moves the point of impact right; counter-clockwise moves it left.
  3. Fire Test Shots: Fire a group of shots, observe the point of impact relative to your aim point.
  4. Make Adjustments: Adjust the windage and elevation turrets as needed to bring the point of impact to your desired aim point. Repeat firing and adjusting until satisfactory zero is achieved.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, clean cloth and lens cleaning solution to gently wipe the optical surfaces. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lenses.
  • Cleaning Housing: Wipe the sight's housing with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and unobstructed to ensure optimal charging and brightness adjustment.
  • Storage: Store the sight in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use for extended periods.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Reticle is dim or not visible.Insufficient light for solar panel, low internal battery, or obstructed light sensor.Ensure solar panel is exposed to light. Check for obstructions on light sensors. Allow time for internal battery to recharge in bright light.
Reticle flickers or is inconsistent.Fluctuating light conditions, loose mounting, or internal issue.Ensure stable light conditions. Check mounting screws for proper torque. If problem persists, contact customer support.
Point of impact is inconsistent.Loose mounting, improper zeroing, or firearm issue.Verify sight is securely mounted. Re-zero the sight. Check firearm for other potential issues.
