3. Setup and Physical Features

3.1 Device Layout

Familiarize yourself with the device's ports and buttons for proper operation.

3.2 Powering On/Off

  1. To power on, press and hold the power button located on the side of the device.
  2. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the device shuts down.

3.3 Charging the Device

Connect the device to a power source using the provided Type-C USB cable. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

4.1 Navigating the User Interface

4.2 OTDR Function

Select the 'OTDR' icon from the main menu to access the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer function. This allows for detailed fiber analysis and fault location.

4.3 OPM/OLS/VFL Functions

Access the Optical Power Meter, Optical Light Source, and Visual Fault Locator functions through the 'OMM' or dedicated VFL button.

  • VFL (Visual Fault Locator): Press the VFL button on the side of the device to activate the red laser for visual fault detection.
  • LED Light: Press the LED button on the side of the device to activate the built-in LED light for illumination in dark environments.

5.2 Battery Care

The device is equipped with a rechargeable lithium battery. For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
